I have an NC30 project bike which I am now in a position to progress. (OK, start).

I need a complete front end. Wheel, discs, spacers, axle, calipers, lines, mudguard, triple clamps, clipons and switchblocks. master cylinder and even clutch lever and perch... or parts to make up that list.

. Not clocks or fairing or fairing mounting.

I have an RGV250 front end complete which i can deal off against this. Please dont wade in and say "But the RGV stuff is better", or whatever, I'm not interested in that.

I would look at a stock subframe and seat unit. but the price would have to be right. (I am 90% sure I will buy a new Tyga seat and subframe.)

I have some other NC30 parts I can deal on if anyone is interested (swingarm, shock etc). PM me.

I will put photos of my stuff up in the next day or so.

Had a friend, who put a ZXR400 front end on an NC30.... Was as easy as changing the stem (although he had a new one made as they weren't swappable). It was really very easy.

Tell me about the swingarm you've got... do you have the wheel, mount, rear brakes blah blah etc? (i.e. a complete rear end)

Got a complete front end from a rvf 400(nc35). Wheel, axle, spacers, Calipers, brake lines, Forks, triple clamps. Discs have seen better days tho.
No bars.
$700

Use to be a common setup the RGV front end on NC30's a few years ago? Won't it fit? How much you want for the RGV front end then?

Yeah it did, as was the ZRX400 swap mentioned above.

And lots of people think I have rocks in my head and that the RGV front end is better.

I want Honda parts, ideally NC30/NC35 (or a full Ohlins fork setup for $300 bucks including custom triple clamps...unlikely I grant you). and the RGV front end has some triple clamps which give about 15 degrees of swing each side which is a PITA on a street bike. And it appears to have 27 degrees of rake which is too much (it does have a 17 inch rear wheel though calculating the rolling diameters it shouldnt make too much difference. I am investigating triple clamps with more offset (which would increase wheelbase) but TBH I would ideally have a rebuilt standard front end. It will be any amount good enough for how good I am, and how hard I want to ride on the road.

I will be starting a "my NC30 project" thread but current plans involve reassembly. Ohlins shock, RVF rear wheel, rebuilt NC30 or 35 forks, new discs and VTR1000 calipers, new M/cyl and clipons, Tyga subframe and seat, and either the fairing I have, painted or Tyga with their subframe and lights. (that depends on money).

You need to see the RGV front end and decide what its worth. Ideally I could get out of that with enough cash to get the NC30/NC35 (or CBR600RR) front end. You're in Christchurch? lets talk!

Given you've got a number of options, might be worth asking RT which of those options he thinks would give the best performance (or is easiest to service, has the greatest range of springs/internals available/ or whatever). Just a thought :)

did that: he reckons the RGV is a better starting point, but for the other reasons mentioned I am not so keen. Thats why an NC35 strikes me as a good compromise..... but given whatever I get will be fully rebuilt, it will be night and day compared to any stock setup. I am a believer in spending money on tyres first and then suspension.

Be nice to keep it all Honda too :)

Do post up your progress, modifying bikes is the best thing since sliced bread as far as I'm concerned. Give us a yell if you get stuck in the brake or cabling departments, would be glad to help you out.

I'm not sure if your interested in this option..might be to easy..

I have an RVF400 with paddock stand..Tyga race system installed by Cycleworks and HRC kitted carbs (slides, needles, airscoop and velocity stacks). on a nc30 engine rest of it is rolling RVF with Showa forks.. $2500 work spent on full body rebuild in the last 90 days..+ the 1600 on HRC parts etc

Have brand new HRC CDi but no RVF loom as it has the nc 30 engine & the rings are a bit buggered..

Buy now at 6.2k with very rare CDi unit she is very fast we gurl & sounds like a tiger in a tin shed ( angry, loud & tear the shit outta a r6 on twisties)
