Approximately 90km round trip... ish.

... although I tend to use other means given I have to wear a suit and look like an undertaker. Casual Friday is a good thing!

Current commute = 0 due to my bin.

Mikkel
10th June 2008, 15:41

When I take the bike.......
206km round trip - 103k each way, with 76k open, tree and bush lined "highway" and 27k of 60k limit with traffic - medium heavy for about 20k from work.
Sad to say - it's cheaper to take the train.

Used to do 100k a day traveling from Motueka over to Polytech in Nelson. :scooter: & it used to take LONGER to get from the Waimea Rd roundabout to Tech.. (about 10k) than it took to get from Motueka TO the roundabout (about 40k!!)!!

HornetBoy
10th June 2008, 16:33
80kms each way so 160kms a day (with bit of a detour on some days just to liven it up ) :2thumbsup gets boring doing the same road 300 times a year ;) lol.

10th June 2008, 16:35
38k each way, but I can't ride at the moment cause Dyers Pass was snowed last weekend and the road is badly gritted. Its not that I mind riding in the dirt its just having to wash the bike when I get home.

Was piss easy on the scooter but now that's I got the cruiser back and running, it gets a bit more tireing..

Blackshear
10th June 2008, 18:08
Uh, about 1.5k's each way? When I DO start riding to work, it's gonna be about 30k's each way. Just to make it worthwhile!
Ha ha.
You lucky people get to ride further. Maybe not so much the 100+k people, though. =)

It's about 2.5 km to work by motorcycle.

But it's about 1 km by pushbike - takes me 5 minutes at a leisurely pedal.I am sooooo glad I'm not doing 1,000km a week anymore,it was well worth the drop in pay at these prices.

10th June 2008, 18:31

10th June 2008, 21:36
35ks each way from Akatarawa to Wellington and back everyday. Have ditched taking the cage in due to traffic (35 minutes each way on the bike or an hour plus in the car), fuel (nasty price) and easier to get round in the city.

Edit: Well I really screwed that one up its actually 50Ks each way, Doh! I checked today.

Between 80-90 kms return, depending on whether I take Paremata Road, or Grays Road.

I commute from Wallaceville, Upper Hutt, down River Road (SH2), up Haywards (SH58), Paremata Rd (or Grays Rd) to SH1 at Paremata, then down the motorway to Tawa.

About 2 minutes on the treadle.

I cry a little each morning when I dont get to ride the Kat. I really wish I didnt move house.

The petrol savings dont get saved either. My liver just hates me little more each week.

Ragingrob
10th June 2008, 22:44
I usually travel about 100km to get into Uni and back, with about 90km of that being open road + motorway. Sucks on a 250, fill up with petrol everyday 3rd morning :(
