Woke up this morning and the sun was shining :gob:
The lawns need mowing, the weeds need dealing to and I'm back to work in a couple of days so I thought that we had better do the right thing and get the bikes out and go for a ride.
Got some snaps of our bikes while we out so thought that I'd share them.

Beautiful. Do you still know that spot in the background as Perfume Point even though they moved the sewage outfall to Awatoto? I did my school days in Napier - loved the place for weather and riding routes.

Those Bikes are stunners Grumpy. Why don't you get up early one Sunday and head to Martinborough for a coffee. Most of us gather at the Flying Fish. I went to Hastings and back in a day just for a swim at Splash Planet last Summer. The coffees cheaper at FF than a swim at SP!

Sorry Merv. Didn't know that. Area certainly seems to be going upmarket these days.
We're pretty new to the area. Moved there last year from Auckland. I'm still pretty much a tourist since I still work in Auckland and head home for the weekends. Gradually finding my way around.

Just ride around the square until you see the eaterie near all the parked bikes (in the south-eastern corner just after the Pukemanu Tavern)

As I was looking at your bikes, my memory suddenly recalled a time, long, long ago when Auckland too had blue skies.... (can't actually remember when though).
Nice pics!

Nice pics and nice bikes. How long have you had them?
I've only had mine for a few weeks now.
Sorry for crashing in but thought it half appropriate.....

I like your taste in bikes. We bought my wifes one last Easter. I had a GSX1400 at the time which was a good bike but the Z1000 really "rang my bells". The problem was getting the keys in my hot little hands so I got mine about 3 months ago...problem solved :2thumbsup
How do you rate the Z1000? I would say that I enjoy riding this bike more than anything else that I have ridden. If your into "riding naked" :o then the Z's the way to go.

I've only done about 1100km's so far and am still running it in.
It is heaps of fun, specially in the twisties. I had a CBR600 and the Z is heaps easier to ride in the twisty stuff, even with a restricted rev range.
I'm still adapting to sitting upright at the moment and am having to conditioning my backside to a different position too. It's that or the seat is quite hard.....
At legal speeds, the wind also isn't an issue.
I haven't noticed the difference in weight either. It is a good 30kg's heavier than the 600 but once on the move, it's gone.
With 5000rpm left to go, I think it'll only get more interesting......

Your right about the seat. The biggest complaint about the bike overseas. Their fix is a corbans (if you've got deep pockets). My wife and I sent our seats to McDonald Motor Trimmers in Tauranga and had them redone. Big improvement. Haven't got their details on me right now but they advertise in mags like BRM. Give them a go.
