Thats right...

Remember it was not too long ago now that I was sitting at my computer and typing up a thread to say my bike had been stolen... Well today, it was found. It was found in the carpark of Glenfield Tavern.

Unfortunately this is not a happy ending. It looks like it will be a write off. I doubt I will even get to see it. It is being towed to a bike shop for assessment and then will most likely be sold by them for parts.

Thanks to everyone that kept a look out, much appreciated.

At first I could not contain my joy, I was so happy that it had been found... but now.. even if it was returned in perfect condition it would have never been the same... I was talking with a very good friend of mine this evening about it and we came up with a metaphor that captures it very well:

Imagine being married, she leaves you and cheats on you with a bunch of horey maoris and then comes running back with a hole like a bowling ally asking you to take her back... you do, and it would never be the same... all the time you would be thinking about all the scabby little weeners inside her.. she would never ride the same, never feel the same.. she had been violated... time to move on I think, time to 'write her off' in my mind and focus on finding a new life, a new love with a new 'bike/woman'.

So again, thanks everyone for keeping an eye out - I do appreciate it.

On a lighter note, the police fingerprinted her and found lots of prints.. and when you think how often I used to clean it, chances are pretty high that the little gits will have left their dirty prints all over it and get picked up by the law.

Thinking about it, it does kind of sound like some locals ay? Stolen from the shore.. and dumped in the same suburb it was stolen from...

Nice ending to the tale though...

You have a new love" so to speak......and the little bit of closure on the old bike....

I know I was glad in one respect to get my stolen car back (in pristine condition), but it was never the same.... Got rid of it as soon as I could...

Was apparently sitting in the carpark of Glenfield tavern all weekend.. was found when the opened this morning and called the law. No plate and screw drivered ignition... was in a right state too.. by the sounds of it she had been crashed a few times...

Yep. When it happened to me I told her to phuck off as I already had found a new love. But somewhere inside it still hurts many years later.

One can only hope a lot of bark was lost and a lot of pain caused by those crashes...

I wanted to have a full cremation for her after I go identify the body... but my friend reckons thats a bit too weird.

Glad you got your closure on your bike but you metaphor doesnt stack up, first you claim they were maori and then you talk about little weeners, obviously they were not maori or else youd be talking about large weeners.
