Tasty! Especially so as they haven't gone for that silly `fairings' fad.
For the sake of GiJoe1313's dear mum, I hope they don't ever build one :)

Shame it's just vapourware. Though I'd imagine that if there's enough buzz over the 3rd party concept then Yamaha *might* actually put some thought to it.
If it were real, it'd be my first +250cc bike (and probably my last!).

Well they seem to have listened to the public's outrage to the Vmax being discontinued by bringing out the new one. Who knows, we might get lucky. Here's hoping they don't listen to California and Europe.

Just searched for it in google images to see what you mean. That is a nice bike.
Hopefully Yamaha try to make a concept bike of a new RD at the very least.

THis was discussed in depth on the RG mailing list - a bunch of 2T enthusists if ever there was. The biggest complaint is that it looks like a 4 stroke - the exhaust will need to be much longer and bulbous as an expansion chamber, unless it is powered by a chainsaw motor..
The styling (and that of the ER6 and others with the bikini fairing/ steetfighter look) really doesn't do it for me.
It should also be a 500 4 cyl - square or Vee

I reckon a 750 v four, it would not need to be highly stressed, but the torque would be unbelievable using todays technology!

Me also. Although I'd prefer something bigger, a new street legal twostroke sports tourer would suit me fine.
Maybe we could convince Suzuki to do something similar with the old Titan?"

I like the tube frame idea but it does need proper chambers. I reckon a Banshee motor and a R6 donor bike. Handmade frame.

Just saw Crazy Steve's ER6N for sale and thought it looked kinda familiar. Look at the RD concept pic I've had as my background for a while and sure enough whoever drew it must've been tracing an ER6N. The pillion pegs were the giveaway, they're exactly the same. Swingarm too, and the general shape of the front fairings.
Bah, why didn't I see this before?

The same picture appears in this month's AMCN with rumours that direct injection and 'stratified charge combustion' could result in a cleaner and leaner burn. There's also comments about using self-lubricating materials like ceramics eliminating the need to have oil fixed with the fuel at all.
And it could even be classed as green (for the tree-hugging two-smokers). If you take the total pollution equation into account, there's far less pollution emitted in simply casting a two-stroke barrel and piston than there is in fabricating the hundreds of moving parts needed for a four-stroke engine.

A modern 350cc 2-stroke could be just the ticket; performance like a 600cc four and a whole shedload lighter. This Yammy would be plenty for 99% of us (if we were honest)
