I was quite stunned this morning driving to Uni. At 9.15am the streets were pretty much empty - traffic density was the lowest I've seen for a long long time.
Anyone else experience this?
Hooray for increasing petrol prices - provided that's the cause of course :D

That's what I keep saying. Higher petrol prices = less cars on the road. :niceone:

9.15 am. Of course you saw no traffic. The rest of us were already at work!

Going to work at 7:15 this morning the hubby commented too that it looked dead and empty on the roads, he had to check the time to make sure it wasn't 6:15... maybe it is the petrol price increase, everyone stayed in bed (or caught the bus or train).

Should also be a bit less freight traffic on the road. Less trucks, vans, couriers etc.

Let me then inform you that along the roads I ride/drive to work the traffic density is usually significantly more dense at 9.15 am than it is at 7.45 am - quarter to eight is the time I usually go at...
So it would appear that 'the rest of us' is the minority in this case, would you not agree?

Yup. Have noticed the same in D'auckland.
Bloody excellent!
Might have to buy a V8 to enjoy it even more...
Perhaps everyone forgot to organise their loan in time to refill their cars:(

Oh I don't know. It's Friday night ... it's been a hard week ... I don't want to think any more. The only traffic density I struck today was the woman who I saw looking at me in her passenger side mirror and then who moved into my lane anyway without indicating just as I was pulling up beside her. :angry2:

Usually it's busier around 9 though... But I'm not saying there isn't any traffic at 7.30

One benefit of the high (LOL, in 3 months time I'll consider it low!) gas prices is that I can actually get some sleep at Joliets flat in central Christchurch over the weekend.
Less boyracers!

It was funny, as I was driving into town this morning thinking about the lack of traffic on the road I turned on the radio and they were commenting on the lack of traffic on the road.
Bloody disc jockeys, useful as ever.
