SV1000S help

Hey there I'm moving up to my first thou in a month or so, a 2008 SV1000S and I want to put high mounted flange bolt on cans on it, would it still be possible to have the tail tidy kit which deals with the ugly diving board of a rear mudguard AND have high mounted exhausts or would the registration plate/indicators stick out to far to have the cans up there?. Also I'm thinking about getting the tyre hugging rear mudguard, how hard are these to put on? does it require removing the wheel?.
Would like to hear from all SV1000 enthusiast and anyone who has experience with the above.

I have recently put a hugger on my 07 SV, real simple to fit and does not require removal of the back wheel. I have noticed it has greatly aided in keeping water spray down off the back wheel, which is a problem once you remove the spade. see my post here for pics. http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showthread.php?t=72515&highlight=hugger

You will probably have to get a new undertail with built in indicators for the muffler problem. I have fitted the integrated tail light and undertail to mine, but haven't been for a WOF with this setup yet. Passing a WOF with the indicators behind the mufflers could be tricky, they should be visible from 45 degrees.

let me know how you get on with passing the WOF, so your tail light section is no longer red. its clear with red led's and orange ones in there hooked up to your indicators? whyd you look to overseas sites to buy the parts, are they not easily obtainable through any bike shops in NZ?

Do the huggers come standard in gloss black or not painted at all? when you painted it did you spray gun it or brush it on?

Do you get some mean angles out of it when leaning into corners. do you ever worryy the cans will drag on the road? or is it not possible on the open road to have to lean the bike so hard into corners that this could happen.

My WOF is not due until October, so don't know if my setup is ligit till then, although i have seen other SV's around with the integrated lights.
I purchased my stuff through ebay as i find it easier than dealing with kiwi bike shops and often a little cheaper.
You can buy huggers either in black, or pre painted (for a few more dollars). I wasn't fussed about the colour as i wanted to spray paint my undertail anyways.

I guess you could probably scrape the pipe leading to the muffler on my bike, but i doubt you would scrape the muffler. I don't ride hard enough these days to even scrape my pegs, haven't done that since i was a young fulla on my ZZR600.
Are you stepping up from a 150 to a 1000, big jump, i would recommend a 600.

I've recently been investigating intergrated taillights for my Hornet
a mates ZX9r and a SV1000.
Prices are between $90-115us $120-153nz so they can work out alot cheaper in the states if you can get reasonable freight to here.

Theres a guy on Trade Me selling them at the mo, prices vary from $200 and up with a 3 week wait to get one he doesn't have in stock.

re getting warrents its just how picky the testers going to be,
most testing stations are like that. picky cunts.

I took the hero blobs off the pegs and got the pipes down on the track, wouldn't try it on the road as the suspension doesn't soak bumps the best at full lean.
