Bit of a rant here, but I really don't like unsolicited advertising. Turned on MSN and this contact -
Tariq ( tm_startech@msn.com (tm_startech@msn.com) )
tried ta make contact with me. Not on my list of contacts so asked who it was. Reckoned that they where bike clothing manufacturers. So told them ta "FO". They must of seen my bike as my contact profile pic. Added them so I could block them.
I have zero time for Spammers, Telemarkets, etc. So if ya don't want ta be abused, don't try ta sell me stuff this way:angry2:

Fair enough dood. Best way to deal with spammers and telemarketers is with a 'goodbye' and a press of the nuke button!:2guns:

I have a sign on my mail box that says NO JUNK MAIL. Works a treat, no more piles of crap to recycle. The other day I watched someone put something in the box, went out and picked it up. It was a flyer for a person selling DVS home ventilation.
I rang the number on the flyer and got this chick. When I said I was ringing about he flyer she got all keen! I asked her if she had noticed the NO JUNK MAIL label, she said yes, but her flyer was not junk, because the product was so good

heh, I used to get all of vodafones "speshal offers" on my phone until I called them about "unsolicited commercial promotional material". They were like "oh thats how we tell you all abo.. mwah mwah, mwah mwah mwah mwah-mwah!". So I sed they better cut it out coz its against the law. cough, pin drops.. End of problem!

I just can't believe how many of my contacts on msn have been infected with that stupid crap that sends me messages like "Hey is this you in this picture? http://stupidlinktositethatwillinfectyourcomputer.info" I use linux so am not really effected by it but its a pain to keep getting them.... I even tell the people who are infected about it and they either don't seem to care or just don't have the know how to remove it.

Last week I removed the Junk Mail sign as I need more paper to start the fire with, and we aren't subscribed to a newspaper.
Brilliant.

A tried and true method for dealing with unwanted sales phone calls: Tell them that you are glad that they called, as you are jerking off and their voice really gets your nut off. "Please don't stop talking baby, yeah, tell me more, what are you wearing, yeah baby, come on and tell me more." They hang up really fast!

RIB, have you checked your privacy settings? Go to Tools>Options, select Privacy, make sure the checkbox at the top is checked, and all others is listed in the block list. Only way someone can get to you then is requesting details etc etc Other option I guess is removing your msn from pages, as anyone could sign up to KB, and be able to contact details.

My setting on Windows Live Messenger has always been:
Tools>Options>Privacy - ticked box for "Only people on my Allowed can see my status and sent me messages"
So a fat lot of good that did.

FO Arse. At least what I have there is just personal stuff and not a Company. Suppose ya think ya clever pointing that out. Big difference in what I have in my sig and a Company doing telemarketing or MSNing me unsolicited.
