Does anyone know the standard mounting angle of Kawasaki GPz750R carbs?
Unsure of year, I think its mid 80s. Also unsure if its the Ninja version or not, or if theres a difference.
The carbs have KEI-HIN and CVK written on them, if that helps.
Can supply pics of carbs if required.
Cheers. ;)

 There isn't an angle as such, just insuring the carbs are seated properly in the inlet manifolds dictates the angle they sit at
The carbs are Keihin CVK 36mm & GPZ750R (watercooled) were 84-85ish identical to the GPZ900R but 5kg heavier & about 35kmh slower

Sorry, I should have added they aren't actually going on a motorbike, they are for my bike carbs project on my car.
I need to know the mounting angle, so that I get it correct when making a manifold.
Thanks for clearing those few things up mate :)
PS I am looking to buy the choke linkage as my set seems to be missing it :(

Horizontal if i recall.
You may need a "pumper" style carb if you are fitting them to a car. (squirts a small amount of fuel on initial throttle operation).
Did something similar in the 80's with CB900 CV carbs grafted onto a Mk2 Zephyr.
Biggest problem was the throttle lag, due to no pumper. Once revving, the CV's did a good job, but not totally suitable. Enjoy.

Thanks mate ;)
Like an accellerator pump? I was under the impression that bike carbs gave good responce, as they are constant velocity?
I know throttle lag can be caused by the intake vacuum disappearing i.e. when you snap open a butterfly type carb.

Thanks mate ;)

You can get CV bike carbs and flat/round slides where the cable acts directly on the slide. Accelerator pumps are used on the latter where if you crack open the throttle the thing doesn't get enough fuel.

If it's anything like my 84 GPZ (look at my profile pic) I would be happy to photograph / measure anything that could help....
... by the way, got anything else from the bike you won't be using? I'm after some pipes and rear shock :)

Sorry mate, I only bought the carbs. Am actually looking for parts myself, I need the choke linkage as it is missing it, and cold starting will be a mission otherwise. I dont know what the bike looks like that these came off, but google says it looks like yours ;)
If it wouldn't be too much hassle, would you (or anyone) have a picture of the airbox handy? It may be an option so I can run an air filter on them. Cheers!
Just to give you an idea of my proposed plan, here is a picture of how I may end up mounting them (note angle will change they just happened to balance nicely there)

And here is an Idea of the port spacing, the manifold will be able to compensate without much problem.

Thanks! ;)
PS I will be away for 2 weeks so wont be able to reply etc
