One of my mates has a 650 Boulevard (sorry, don't know the proper title for it) and loves the bike but would like a bigger petrol tank for it for longer range before needing to get fuel.

Is there any of the 'zuki cruisers that have a bigger tank and would fit his one without too much hassle???

I second this with my '87 Savage LS650 (if they are different)

Looks to be the same basic bike - my mates is quite new so there may be differences in tank mounting.

That's the biggest complaint regarding the Suzuki Boulevard S40 (formerly Suzuki Savage LS650). The fuel tank is ridiculously small, even by cruiser standards.

Suzuki market them as a budget cruiser, but they are really just a commuter bike, not designed for long-range riding. The fuel tank gives a range of around 130km, before hitting reserve. The suspension set-up is designed for slow speed round-town riding, and when pushed hard on high speed corners, tends to "bound" across bumps. The build quality (particularly in later models) is "to a price". You get what you pay for...

I looked at the S40 for a while, when looking for an upgrade bike for Mutley. I searched for bigger tank options, but couldn't find anything.

A mate of mine bought a second hand tank for his 1400 Inturder and then cut and reshaped it to give him an extra 5 litres of capacity.

It ended up slightly wider and taller.

It looked ok too.

He then had it painted to match the bike, removed the original tank and replaced it with the custom one.

This allowed for plenty of extra range.

Cost was ok too.

Cant remember how much but maybe a couple of hundred all up.
