Due to owning 9 vehicles now, I'm looking at streamlining for winter.
I've got my rg which I can't really do justice to due to other projects, and my cbx which has been sitting in the old man's shed since march.
RG is a 1984 model. indicated 76k (has done more) gearbox noisy, engine rattly, fairing painted blue badly. runs bloody good despite this and I've got a spare gearbox for it. missing pistons barrels and cylinder head.
also a spare set of rims and almost a full set of fairings. along with misc junk as well. wof'd and reg'd til september
Bits for these come up reasonable frequently on trademe. I'm pissed off becasue I ummed and arred about buying a dereg one for ages then when I finally decided to get it on the next relist, someone had already secured it :(
I was going to rebuild the spare engine over the winter months. I've jsut bought two more cars in the last week or so, and already got two others on the go in project form so I don't see myself getting the chance to do the engine anytime soon.
CBX is a RFVC engined 250 in white. have a spare tank, rear section, some fork bits and a new set of tyres on rims, and some misc bits and pieces. needs a chain as the one on it's run out of adjustment (read: buggered) speedo stopped working on the last trip to palmy from wellington. Probably jsut a cable.. odometer reads 13~k. spent a few years in a lock up as I understand it.
I bought it off a dude that dropped it. I chucked another set of forks on it , mainly beacuse they were leaky and she's fine, and some new tyres.
could get another wof sweet as.
Ideally wants some time spent on the carbs and maybe a new battery. Goes flat after a few days. never bothered me as i jsut push start it (easy) if it didn't start for me.
both would be good winter projects. Looking at offers for now. I've got a figure in mind for bith of them but I'm not sure ideally what they're worth or if I'm better to hang on to both/one til I get time to spend on them. I've now got 4 project cars and 4 bikes of various descriptions so I don't get a lot of time to work on them all, let alone $$ to spend on them!
