So, after a wee off on the rimutaka hill weekend before last, (nothing serious, and I once again I went down whilst holding others up, I really cant ride slow it would seem).

Anyhoo, the standard under seat pipe was a bit rizzed on the right hand side, so I thought I'd take it off to fix it up, weel it looked so good with out them or the number plate holder, I decided to do this...

Cheers guys, it sounds bloody awesome. Oh yeah, on over-run it spits flames too.

Cant really answer why I've gone down twice on the hill, but I've never done it going fast, so I'm as perplexed as you are.

Perplexed - the answers obvious man - just don't slow down!Kinda the whole point of getting rid of my GIXXER was to take things a bit easier on the road... Now I find myself torn:baby:

If your getting flames spitting out the side, that means you could end up scorching
my fairing as im going around the outside of you..

...yeah right.

Described to me, "it's like a camera flash goin off!" Dunno if that means large ball of flame or just real bright. Damn cool either way though.

One either side would be cool (and quieter!!!!!)

Get your arse onto e-bay and order some crash bobbins too.

I guess the big hacksaw came out then :Punk:

If you need a link to aftermarket pipes for the Hornet in the stock fitting PM me - also a single high right side only muffler is available for that 4 cylinder howl.

It fuckin had crash bobbins, now it has a hole in the engine casing where it ripped the engine mount and said crash knob off. Yep, that's me having to take my motor out and get the mount welded back onto the block!

If you have them, throw them away!

Now thats interesting, all the aftermarket ones are engine mount ones - hondas factory ones are frame mount - through the holes under the wee plastic caps in front of the engine mounts.

I'd have to say I have wondered about engine mounting them. I may purhase a threaded rod and move mine to the frame.

And cooler again with the bar end mirrors on. Thinkin I'll just stick with one instead of both though, it's bloody wide with two!

And Skels, I got the idea from a PM some homo sent me some time back.

In the same boat here.

Which side did you stick it on?

You need some of these badass cages like my hornet has.

AllanB
19th June 2008, 19:36
I've two bar-end mirrors on my Hornet - I started with one on the right but found my right arm was getting sore (it was not prior to fitting) added one to the left and all sweet again. I'd say I was compensating for the extra air pressure on the right on the open road, thus the sore arm.

I've Napoleon mirrors that I altered to fit within my alloy Renthal ultra-lows. (they come standard for steel bars that are larger internally than the alloy) Good view and vibe free. I run them with the glass inboard so they don't stick way out.

Not all are engine mounted the motovation ones are frame mount.

The first ones not good..engine mount/munted

I spent last evening moving my Hornets engine mounted sliders to the frame mounts. The factory Honda sliders fit in the frame holes provided so that's good enough for me and those above images sold it.

It would be tricky welding the engine mounts and keeping the heat hot enough to weld but low enough not to warp the bore etc.

Many thanks for the post.

Factory sliders in picture below - whites at bit gay.......expensive apparently.
