Hey, i have searched but havn't been able to find any info, i am looking to buy either a 250 or 400 or maybe a 600, but i am 6'4 1/2 so i'm looking for any bikes i should stay away from or lean towards that are going to be comfortable for me. I learnt to ride when i was 14 so have no problems in that respect but would appreciate some info on which bikes i should be looking at.

Cheers Matt

On road, off road, adventure? if adventure bikes appeal you could try a new KLR650, lots of room on those, good comfy seat, reasonable weather protection, adequate performance , cheap at $9k new

Kawasaki used sometimes to be bigger than the others. That'd seem to be the case currently with the Honda CBR1000RR and the KTM RC8 weighing the same or less than the current Kwaka 600 sprotbike.

Try a super moto, unless you are doing mega km's nothing will be able to touch you in the twisties or round town.

If you are doing mega km's then try a big (650cc+) adventure bike. They can do everything a sprots bike can do, well except get you clocked at 250kmph

Dare you try one out...

Unless you are skinny with it - you are too tall for mid size sports bikes. They'll fold your legs up and make it hard to move around on the bike. Try a motard.

I am 6ft 1" and found all my past sports bikes and a list of other bikes test ridden to be rather cramped - especially for the hips area which would cramp after an hour or so. Tourers were better for leg space and had a better back position for the likes with back injuries, but these may be too high a cc for what you seem to be after.

I find the M109R perfect for a tall frame with good arm reach but it's also a tad higher cc than what you may be looking for.

Some of the crossover bikes are very tall.

I'm 6'5" and had an ER6n with the tall seat option - ER6f could be an option if you like the faired look.

You may struggle with a full-on sprots-bike; I did and have only recently made the Gixxer bearable with new bars etc (although I still look wishfully at the Versys!)

Taking a er6n for a ride tomorrow, i'll see how it feels, otherwise might go for a cruiser. I have a highly modified jap turbo ( skyline gtr) but its very bad on gas, worse than my old ss ute and my xr6 turbo i got cheap, i just finally thought it's stupid owning two gas guzzlers when i could easily have almost any bike i wanted ( within reason ) and my gtr for the weekends.
