Hi all,

I've just discovered that the movie 'African Odyssey' is to screen in Geraldine this Firday evening

It's the story of the 4 guys 4 bikes and one continent as they ride from South Africa to London on 4 different Adventure bikes finishing in London on 20th of Jan 2007

THIS WILL BE THE FIRST TIME THIS MOVIE HAS SHOWN OUTSIDE WHAKATANE ( Where the riders are from ) :2thumbsup

There will also be a talk by one of the riders, Nick Twaddle :2thumbsup

TRIP WAS INSPIRED BY HIS COUSIN AND his mate, both from Geraldine, doing this trip in the late 80's

At this stage, not likely to be shown anywhere else :-(

2hrs ( Edited down from the original 67 hrs - Take note Transalper ) of HD footage edited into a feature length Doco

Friday June 20th, 7.30pm at the Geraldine Primary School Hall.

Door tickets will be available but they have 150 going so far, with space for maybe another 50 $12 each inc supper

I spoke to the lady today and she suggested you Fellas contact me ( stu@photographs.co.nz ) and we try to get a handle on numbers interested

Off out the door until about 8.30/9pm then I'll be back in front of the 'puta

Cheers, Stu :scooter:

I followed their trip via their website last year, hanging out for every update. It should be a fun night, but I have to work....

If anyone hears that it's playing near Chch on another day, post it up here please!

What you dont know wont hurt you :D

Re the request for the Chch viewing. I'll see if I can round up Nick about a showing in Chch similar to The Last Hurrah (http://www.thelasthurrah.co.nz/)fullers. Was a good night and they had a pretty reasonable turn out.

Managed to talk to Nick about a chch showing and it sounds like they have planes in the pipeline. Dont know any details at this stage but gave Nick my email address and asked him to get in touch when they know more.

It was a very different take on a motorcycle journey from what we normally see. Preparation was minimal - was very much a seat of the pants trip and hence they had heaps of fun just exploring. Very laid back approach - I got the impression that none of the four had ever changed a motorcycle tyre before the left NZ! Defiantly worth watching.

Hey Stu

I only just got your PM

I would love to see your movie, let me know if it comes out on dvd or similar. Alas I am in London, did any of the guys end up doing an OE, I would love to have a beer with them some day.
