other than a few major fuckups that would have been fixed by better editing, oh and the removal of the lovey dovey stuff.... i liked it, even just to see the skyhawks buzzing round, and i love the inverted scene its so bullshit its funny 2m clearance between cockpits... sure and i suppose the tails werent touching or anything!

im a lover of all things aviation but there is soooooo much wrong with the movie it kinda kills it if you look into it too much

Compared to other jet fighter movies, I think Top Gun did quite well. (Shame they didn't do it in stereo, I think?)
Tho not perfect, (the movie, not me), I've yet to find another jet fighter movie that was at least realistic in MOST of the scenes.
The fact that they put a KAWASAKI GPZ900 in the movie, showed that they were producing a Top Class movie!

I was thinking the F15 was the F16 which would make the F14 the F15,
But your right, What I was thinking was the F15, was in fact the F14, But funnally enuf, the F16, is the F16.
Still the F15 obviously is not the F16, which of course is the F16 Falcon, and very different to the F15 Eagle, which tho simalar to the F14 Tomcat is not the F14 Tomcat at all .
I must be getting old!

I like the F-14 Tomcat, but I prefur the F-16 Fighting Falcon more. The huge air intake is awesome. The F-15 eagle is pretty cool and so is the F/A-18 Hornet.

But nothing can beat the ultimate F-22 Raptor. The things frikken matt black, you can't get better than that

the SU-27 is my choice of the russian arsenal, im pretty sure its the only military aircraft that can perform the cobra maneuver. The bullshit move that maveric pulls - "I'll put the brakes on and they'll fly right by" is total crap... the SU-27 will pull back from level flight to 110degrees (20 degrees past vertical) climb 100-200 feet then come nose down to be behind its opponent... best get him from long distance with an AGM-64 Phoenix :Punk:

why didnt maveric just do that when just use the phoenix against the "migs" which are actually T-38 Talons... afterall it is the F-14's main weapon
