Taken from MNZ site:

JUNE 16, 2008: On Friday, June 13, all current Motorcycling New Zealand members were sent a pack containing username and passwords, and information on the different licences that MNZ has to offer.

This pack also included renewal forms for those who choose not to use the on-line facility.

If you chose this option, please send the renewal form to the office as per normal. This year we do not require the logbooks or club cards to accompany the manual renewals.

To aid the smooth transition of on line licensing, the board of Motorcycling New Zealand has extended all licences expiring on June 30 to now expire on July 31, 2008.

The new on line licence programme will go live on Monday, June 23.

This is an exciting initiative that MNZ is offering, and see this as a huge step forward for our members.

Sorry sir you don't seem to be registered, you cannot race today. Erm. . . We have a Mr Snowdown:pinch: Do you have any identification under that name?

Boldly going....I didn't want to be hanging around waiting for it to happen for weeks on end. Turns out I was wrong. It will probably go smooth as silk without teething problems too.

26th June 2008, 16:03
well i'll be a guinea pig then. will let you know if the new licence all comes through as expected and lets see if they let me race at the next round :)

if they do mess up then I'll have to resort to the old fashioned phone, but the online widget was probably better than someone having to try and decipher my handwriting

I gave it a whirl - seemed OK pretty straight forward, prompted for missing info, we'll see if the license turns up :-)

I found the process far better and easier than in the past, so long as my licence turns up I'm all for it... Except the part where we have to take our club card to each round and get it checked at sign in, the sign in people have enough to do already I feel. Just being picky though

That was optional. It sounds like the licenses are going to be credit card size this year and if you pay an extra $5 you get your pic on it.

the pic thing is highlighted red and is listed as compulsory information when i try to do it online. how do you get around this? send a blank photo?

Don't know aye But I definitely didn't need to upload a photo. But even if you have to upload a photo you still get the option later on to say yay or nay about getting it put on your license.

I left a question on the MNZ answerphone yesterday, a very helpful Bonny rang back this morning. She confirmed that you DO NOT have to send your existing logbook/licence and club card up with your postal application.
This is handy as it ensures you have "physical" licence coverage till the end of July. Thus there's plenty of time to be within the 14 WORKING day promise of the written application turn around.
And don't forget the family discount, with 3 of us it saved a heap.
A big thanks to Vicky and team, it's a busy time of year for them.

my question is i thought you retained your race number as long as you stay current... MNZ have given away my SB race number already even though my application is in the postal system and my licence is still valid until July 31st according to them ... how does that work??

Great, it doesn't really cater for first time appilcations.

I emailed Jill asking what is happening with log books. etc etc...

They won't be ready untill next month. Could be a day lience or two for me! Ekk!

I’ve uploaded my info 7 times – it says (each time) “Rider Data updated correctly” but when I try to apply for the Licence, it claims “Your personal information is incomplete for completing a licence application. Click on the "Edit my personal information" link to update your details”. When I log back in using the new password (the ONLY thing updated) all the new info is gone!! Quite frustrating.

It should rock up any day soon mine took a while via the mail, if you already have a full licence then it dosnt expire till the end of July, if ya dont then you may have to buy a day licence.

my one took 4 working days. got it a week ago. Funny thing is i got 52 emails in my inbox today from mnz admin telling me that they stuffed up the number requests.

i chose and had approved my f3 number, my cross country number and a protwins number.

the licence has all the numbers printed on it but apparently i wasn't allowed the cross country number that the system said i could.

new card on its way.
