Now here's a little tale from my holiday excursions...
I was riding back from Waiuku, south of Auckland, after a game of golf (don't ask how I got the clubs there) on the 29thand it was seriously wet. Got on the motorway at Drury and started my run North by getting as many cars behind me as I could so I didn't catch their spray. Just as I passed the Papakura off-ramp, I passed an HP car that was in the South bound lane with his lights and siren going (must have been late for a corn-holing or beating somewhere). Now here's the thing...as the HP was going past, the cars in front of me braked. So I braked, happy in the knowledge that the nearest car to my arse was a good 200 metres back (god bless the fast lane and all that sail in her).
Imagine my surprise then when a white Honda Accord (or Integra) hove into view through my mirrors, but the strange thing was that it was sideways! This tit had jammed his anchors on so hard that he had locked the front and either his suspension was sufficiently f*cked that it made him dive to the right, or he actually turned the damn wheel. The kicker is that, as far as I could tell, there was no-one in front of him at all, he just did it due to the cop on the other side of the median barrier.
Luckily I had just passed this prick, else he would have gone straight into me. As it was, I got away clean, and he ended up sideways blocking both lanes of the motorway, which I am sure would have resulted in a number of nose-to-tails while people tried to avoid him.
The words "close" and "call" spring to mind.

Phew the Biker Goddess was looking after you that day - and a cage was sacrificed as well. Hopefully that will appease her for a while and everyone will stop having crashes. PLEASE!

Yeah,I hate that too, after years of riding guttless bikes and the odd truck I have developed the habit of never backing off.I can't believe it when everyone is cruising along nicely at 100kph,then they see a cop...anywhere,doing anything...then they all hit the picks and do 80kph! WTF for!!

i thought i was the only one that did this, as in thinking wtf for. i especially hate it at speed cameras as sometimes those speed cameras are in the middle of a passing lane and you can only imagine the consequences, you dont exactly expect someone to jump on the anchors in the middle of a passing lane for no apparant reason.

Same thing happened to me. Car and me passing a tanker when another car pulls out of an intersection about 1/4 mile ahead. The car was at about the tanker drivers door and going well with me about 50m behind and catching. Dickhead jams the brakes on and loses it to the left which had me thinking he was gonna take out the tanker so I gassed it and went right. Would have made it too but the dick somehow saved it and overcorrected to the right. The big dive to the right wasn't enough and I ended up wiping off the front of the car with the engine and my left leg. I could have ridden the bike to work but I'd broken #1 plug with my shin. The car was written off as the chassis was bent. One new plug and the Z1000J was going again, with a few scrapes.

Let's just say that I should have played AFTER this event :disapint:. It was cold, wet, windy and at the moment I play about once every 6 months. The worse news is that up until the 9th I was 6 strokes up on my mate, but dropped them over the next 3 holes, then we had to call it off due to a baby related call for help from SWMBO. Bugger.

Some police can certainly be a bit ignorant when in traffic and doing 90 etc, with the knowledge that Joe average is too chicken shit to pass them.
Some people are equally as ignorant when passing cops and cameras though! Doh! We need a measuriser for ignorance so we can keep these people of the roads!  :bash: :stupid: :bash:
