As Christchurch's newest Honda dealer Robin and the team at Hampton Honda has something for everyone whether it be Road, Off Road, Parts, Accessories or Service. In conjunction with the grand opening the Honda Riders Club has organised a road ride to Akaroa, departing from the store at 10 am, returning in time for the major prize draw at around 2 pm. All makes, models, riders, and pillions welcome - we look forward to seeing you there.

Unfortunately I am coaching my sons soccer at 10, but I hope to meet up later.

He he - I've got to go to ensure he is not too anal with the rules - they are only 5-6 year olds and get upset when red carded!!!!

What is the road surface like on the Akaroa road at the moment? Much grit?

Just heard on the radio that there's thick fog out that way. I think I'll stay in my corner of the city today (north east) where it's nice and sunny.

Not with these groups, I rode out +1 on Saturday and saw what looked like a Pan at little river, and then a whole mixed bunch of bikes turned up as we left for Akaroa.

Roads were crap: we both slid on the Dyers pass, me on the way up, him on the way down (where there is lots of gravel and was some ice) - tens of metres... both OK, no offs.

Ride through bays and over Gebbies was faultless.

Coming off the pass, there was a wall of fog this thick. <---O--->
It was very limited visibility and sometimes freezing into Little River with some icy patches, and thicker frost on the verges on the shores of Forsyth.

Sun was out in Little River, had a coffee outside and chatted to two women who had cycled in from Leeston

Ride to Hilltop was like a summer's day - no problems but there were a few gravel build ups on the way down. Had a nice meal at Bully Hayes and and it was a beautiful clear warm day.:niceone: Only one guy turned up for five minutes on a small red sports bike and then rode off - who was that?

Didn't see another soul before we left around 1 and didn't see anyone heading from Little River to Akaroa, just ChCh to Little River. There was fog again on the way back but not so bad. We went round the hill rather than over it this time :-)

'twas me. We were about 8 people who went out for a ride to Akaroa - but the others called it quits 3 kms out of Tai Tapu due to the Fog and decided to go back to town for a coffee. I decided to go ahead by myself and had an awesome ride.
As you said it cleared at Little River and it was warm like a summer's day going up towards Hilltop. Quite a bit of grit on the downhill slopes going towards Akaroa - but was still a nice ride. I went back up over Gebbies, along the Bays and over Evans to Sumner.
