What is it about Harleys???
That makes ya feel so bad-ass?
I love the HD ride.
Don’t get me wrong, the Buell is irreplaceable but currently I am waiting on some parts from the states so am riding a mates HD in the meantime.
As each day passes I am becoming more and more aggressive on it. It started as “ yee f**ken ha” and has now become “get outta my way mother f**kers!”
Its an insane (but good) feeling and I am lovin’ it!

It helps that I am wearing the obligatory ‘Harley Chick’ uniform too... no sensible motorcycle boots allowed! Anything less than a 2” inch heel is NOT to be considered.

And ditch the winter trou in favour of thigh-high leather leggings over jeans that give the effect of wearing thigh-high-fuck-me-boots.

Oh yeah its hard not to feel hot when you are astride one of these bikes! LOL

I hear ya girlfriend. Theres just something about the way they ride. I personally would never own one. (dont need to really brothers have them periodically) To high risk of theft etc and I really am not a harley girl. But to each their own.

hahahahahahahahahahaha

Thanks I needed that!

On the subject of motherf**kers... encountered one on the way to work today.

I overtook this bloke along a street up the road from home and he seemed to take offence cos as we were approaching the lights leading to the turn onto the motorway he went roaring past me and the car in front of me in his pissy little car. I just thought 'ok whatever, you'll be eating my dust on the motorway'.
Well bugger me there was hardly any traffic and this freak chased me! At one point he was right up my date and I actually thought he was gonna ram me. I did some pretty tight lane changes to get away from him but at 140kph I was aware that a cop probably wouldn't cut me any slack if I pleaded that I was trying to lose this lunatic who was chasing me. So not wanting to draw too much attention to myself I was trying to keep my riding as discreet as poss...of course this meant the a-hole kept catching up. God only knows what speeds he was doing!
Eventually he got in front of me and at the point I gave him the bird REPEATEDLY. He returned the gesture and actually turned around and was obviously yelling abuse at me which I couldn't hear... at this point I realised he was quite irrational... and I started to feel very uneasy wondering just how far he was gonna take things.
Fortunately he seemed to make the decision that he did actually have to be somewhere and took and an exit ... PHEW!
I rode on thinking "you pathetic wanker, it was obvious I'm a chick. Did it make you feel like a MAN to harass a lady on a bike???"

And all because I just overtook the prick!

chubby
7th July 2008, 16:17
Sorry to hear that. They live amongst us and rational thought cannot describe why they act like they do.

Just remember, he had the problem, not you, but it does bugger up an otherwise nice day.

Well I will be saying goodbye to the hog any day now cos I have confirmation that my parts have finally shipped. Blimmin clutch hub was on back order and Harley/Buell only just released them last week...around the same time that the parts supplier managed to source one from another dealer... typical!

oh well I ain't complaining. In fact I am over the moon cos I can't wait to get back on my baby and blow some cobwebs...

buellbabe
4th August 2008, 06:41
HA! I rode it back to Auckland in the storm...that was an interesting ride... and as soon as I came off the motorway and wasn't at full noise I heard the damn whistling sound that it was making when I took it into the shop!
I thought "no f**ken way! you are being paranoid!" So took it to work on Monday and there was no doubt, the noise is still there, its subtle but I know my bike so well that to me it stands out like dogs balls!

Rang R&S and as luck would have it their van was already on its way up to Auckland to do a pickup from AMPS so they picked my bike up as well.:bye:

Spoke to them the next day and they can't hear the sound! So at the mo I am waiting for it to be delivered back to me LOL.

Gotta say it actually felt a bit weird getting back on such a tall bike after the luxury of being able to have both feet flat on the ground on the Harley! But I ain't complaining! I just want it back!

Rob Taylor
5th August 2008, 22:25
Well it sounds like you need to ride it untill it breaks:yes:Maybe its just the sound of a sweet ride:blink:Come up and see us sometime:scooter:

buellbabe
7th August 2008, 07:09
UPDATE! Got the bike back and the noise was f**ken obvious to me. I rang the shop and told them so. They are mystified.

By the time I got home yesterday I was seriously concerned. I can hear it while riding but can't determine where its coming from and its worse at lower revs. Anyway I was determined to figure it out so I put it in first and ran along beside it trying to ascertain WHERE the sound is coming from... it has gone from a subtle whistle to full on rattle...
Well I sussed straight away that it was nothing to do with the clutch cos it was coming from the right side of the bike.
Less than a minute later after starting at the rear and working forward I had found the culprit. My air-cleaner cover is cracked around the bolt that holds it in place. It is gonna need a plate welded inside the cover to give some extra reinforcement. In the meantime electrical tape is doing a fine job holding it in place and VOILA! no rattle!

In fact the bike is running like a dream

Brilliant!

Stray noises are often really hard to trace even if you know roughly where they're coming from.

Peace of mind returns!!!

buellbabe
7th August 2008, 08:27
HELL YEAH! Praise be to electrical tape.

I reckon it just may be the best invention EVER!

I have witnessed many roadside repairs using this miracle tape... always carry a roll under the seat, ooh and don't forget the cable ties LOL.

Nope. Duct tape is better. So is 100mph tape (for what it's good for). But my favourite is self-amalgamating rubber tape, cos it's just so damn cool.

And for the nerds:

Q: Why is duct tape like The Force

A: It has a light side, and a dark side, and it holds the universe together!
