The story doesn't say they aren't safe to wear while riding a motorcycle, so go for it. Walking in them was cited as the problem.

My advice would be ride dirt bike style with your foot properly on the pegs if you wear jandals and none of this nancy boy toe on the peg stuff because then you might slip out of them.
