Fender eliminators?

I'm moving to NZ soon, how fussy are the cops regarding fender Eliminators?

If they think it's a fender eliminator here in Oz you'll get pulled up in a nano-second.

Has to comply with the rules around it being properly visible/readable, illuminated and not obscured either partially or fully. Not sure whether the angle issue is subjective or objective but obviously if any of the above requirements are not met because of the angle than it would be a problem.

Havent had any problems with this,number plate light can be an issue come WOF time hence i bought an led one.The requirement for a reflector over here is easy just buy a $10 one from any bike shop and cut it in 1/2.

Cheers guys, it's more the mud guard covering a 45 degree angle past the axle here in Oz.

Here are the rules that get heavily enforced over here. Notice how installation of an FE reduces the 45 degree coverage past the rear axle.

A fender eliminator or tail tidy replaces the stock piece of plastic guard. It is used to mount the number plate & reflector and often turn signals.

The only issue here is as stated above a plate light must be fitted and the plate must be clearly visible.

You are free to shoot great rooster tails of water behind you onto the car tailgating if you desire :lol:

Unless it turns out to be some lard arse from LTSA Head Office, then he will change the law to affect all.:weep:

You could argue that the whole rule/diagram is flawed, making the rule ineffective. :lol:

The rule states "A rear wheel or side-car wheel mudguard must extend at least from a point vertically above the front of the tyre to a point vertically above the rear of the tyre." It does not say anywhere about angles, yet in the diagram they erroneously put a 45-degree angle in there when you can clearly see that is is obviously NOT a 45-degree angle (2 x 45 = 90 = right angle, but there is no way that angle is a right angle!!). :oi-grr:

Since the written rule contradicts the diagram then neither of them should apply.

Sheesh! are they really that anal about it? I lived in Perth in the mid 80s and the cops were assholes then. Got a ticket for exceeding the speedlimit on the Kwinana freeway by 5kmh. Perth hasnt changed much then eh?

If anything it's gotten worse. Cops are pulling people over for petty excuses instead of the real problems (too tired to give examples).
