After my slide down the road on sunday i was a little bit sore in the rib/left shoulder area.
The doc checked me over and after swearing at me (a lot).It seems I did a bit of damage. 1 cracked rib, a crack in the shoulder blade and some nerve damage. The metal work in the clavicle has also shifted a little.
The docs talking opperation to sort it out but at the moment (fingers crossed) Ive talked him into giving me a fortnight to settle and I hope heal up. :innocent:
For the new riders here theres a couple of lessons to be learned -There aint no substitute for good riding gear. and it could happen to ya anytime ,anyplace
Ohh --and frosty can't ride for shit--but I fifgger that goes as said. :blah:

Well, hitting something like this, I cant say I'm completely surprised.... if ya metalwork has moved, isn't the op a good idea now so ya can race again??

Thanks for the update Frosty.

Go
And
Have
The
Op.

Don't make me call you a dickhead in public. I should have had external fixation for my neck fractures, but turned it down because it just looked stupid. I was the one that was stupid, and I now have a bunch of issues to deal with every day.

You reckon that you can rest up for a whole two weeks??? P'raps the op is a better option

Whatever you decide, hope you heal quickly so you can get back into doing what you enjoy most..........

What you want to do is get to the muffler shop and get a bit of perforated tube, slot it, then jam it in to place and fill around with expanding foam...

Oops, wrong thread... But it does sound like you need a mechanic more than a Dr :)

Blimey mate, you is banged up good. Damn right about the gear man. I was in full MIR leathers when I smoked the 750. Walked away with a dislocated finger, bruised ribs, and a sprained ankle and as everyone who saw my bike will agree it was a bad off. I was in the pub that evening enjoying a lucky pint. Dunno about the op thing, I guess only you know best on how you feel and how you heal.

Can I have some drugs?

Shit Tony, you even know how to crash in style! Whatever you decide, hope you heal up soon, and get back on the road even sooner. Hey I noticed you called me (missed call), but I didn't return it, since I have an irrational fear of the phone (as well as numerous other things  ) so sorry about that...

See ya,
Dave.

PS: I'm still wearing jeans, if anything goes terribly wrong, I can get a flash as scientifically advanced operation, and become the 6 million dollar fellah

I agree with the general sentiment, you know your body best.
Just remember 3 months of no racing is a lot better than 3 years of only being able to go half assed because of reoccurring(sp?) problems.

Either way, get better quick.

A few people I know with sports type injuries have avoided surgery with a course of accupunture.(after pysiotherapy wasnt working) Quite fast results. Just a thought.

My best friends uncle is my GP and besides collecting degrees for a hobby (no joke) he also is highly skilled and experienced in "alternative" medicine. Haven't had the need for acupuncture myself (no need to touch wood till I have a new bike), but have seen the results in others. Is at least worth looking into. Like anything though, results will vary, and it can depend greatly on the quality of the professional seen.

On the arnica front. That I can highly recommend from personal experience, in particular arnica gel. When I had my off, I put some (thanks BetterHalf for giving it to me) on my legs before I went to sleep. I woke in the morning, with that dull ache you get when things are healing, I had major increased movement in my legs. By the afternoon the ache had gone and the legs were 200% better than the arnica free day prior. Kicks the ass off of the likes of Deap Heat, etc.

Warning - Arnica is great but it is a poison so don't put it on broken skin.

acupuncture is great for soft damage. Or internal balance of the energies.

Maybe that's your problem Frosty, your internal energies are unbalanced. It's a damn good excuse for falling off I reckon.

I used to use some Chinese herbal stuff when I was into Kung-fu to get the bruises on my arms out called (forgive spelling, so I'll do it sort of phoentically) Zheng-gu-shui. It was great stuff and healed bruises shallow and deep quick as.
