most online bikeshops have kids sizes in riding gear, not sure about local shops, although any shop will get it in for you.A warning though! most children that you take for a spin will end up wanting a bike of their own!

but anyhoo--- HJC do a range of kids sized lids. ($140)Shoei do too
Gloves --depend on her hand size -there are small ladies gloves that fit well
Boots--MX boots do well
Jacket etc--for a ride round the block or not much more--SKI gear

It all comes down to how much you want to spend and can afford, and what value you have on your kid.
good on you for taking her for a ride.

My oldest son has been coming with me on the bike since 2 weeks after his 5th birthday! :Punk: (he's now 12!)

As others have stated you can get small gear. (even if it's xs women's gear) Do a trip around the local bike shops & check them out! I know that our local Cash Converters has a heap of leather jackets for sale, so maybe see if there is one near you too.

It's cool being able to take your kid out & share in your passion too! :wari:

Enjoy!! :ride:

Used to take my kids on the back of bikes starting around, I think, 6 years old. I don't recall the name of the helmet they had though. The kids enjoyed it. Had a special strap belt made so that when my daughter would fall asleep, she'd just slump forward, not backwards.

Children have no concept of Death/Speed or major PAIN ! !Wow! You are quite serious aren't you ? :weird:

Big bikes arnt for Kids...They are for grown ups...:)I can think of a few kids that are more "grown up" than many adults I know.

Anyway i remember reading in the roadcode ages ago that children under 12 arnt aload to ride as a Pillion..That must have been a while back ay ?

There are flasher ones that use two waist belts (rider/passenger) with a clip to tie them together also. (buddy belts?)

we got HJC helmets for our eldest 3 kids 8, 10 and 13yrs.
Lifestyle imports (http://lifestyle-imports.co.nz/shop/) have leather jackets/pants/boots and gloves too I think, and at a good price.

It was a mission finding the right fear at the right price, i didnt want to fork out thousands but i wanted them to be safe. Got a few bits of trade me, boots and jacket. NAd other stuff from shops, you just got to keep looking around and sooner or later you will find something. As a point of interest i posted a thread simila to this a while back about kids on the back of bikes, it makes for interesting reading. enjoy your ride with your kids.
