Hi all, let me start by saying a big thanks to the CK Technical team for turning my bike from something that handled well to something that really doesn't need a rider to get around a corner. All I can say is she's absolutely razor sharp at the moment, to the point of being twitchy... I've never felt the front end feel so solid, especially in the wet, just bags and bags of confidence. I used to have the forks on the Prila having all of the rings showing on the top tripple and on re-installation assumed that the handling might have changed a tad so dropped the forks through to have one less ring showing... think i may well have to go back and drop another ring or two through as she steers faster than I gave her credit for (that or i'll just learn to think and ride her a little quicker, which seems the more fun option).
One thing I have noticed is that it feels like the rear is being dragged around corners and her arse is a little twitchy... (I think the Prila is finally tired of me trying to manhandle her into corners) a little disconcerting, but I have a feeling that a part of that is me trying to fight the Prila into corners... whereas she needs little encouragement and just wants to go in... QUICKLY... She did slide her rear once, part my fault as I had just filled her up (27 bucks aaaaahhhh) so the tyres weren't exactly up to riding temp, but it was soooo gentle, just a slight step, catch and she threw the nose in the air (got the blood pumping)... I really do get the feeling that the Prila is trying to remove the rider as he's cramping her style. I've still yet to set the sag (naughty naughty I know) etc... but really don't think that'll be too far out...
On a side note... there were discussions a while ago about the pros and cons of having your suspension setup correctly, is it worth the $$$ etc... Based on what I've seen so far... ABSO-F'IN-LUTELY... it would seem a waste time riding your current setup to it's limits before having the suspension done and then having to learn how to ride the bike all over again... (from the point of view that it's going to be a very different riding experience after the suspension has been done and could actually be dangerous to apply your fast style to a new setup, just my 2 cents).
Conclusion... I'm a little slow for the Prila at the moment... Even though she's still a little twitchy I still have utter confidence that she's won't throw herself down the tarmac... That's probably the best money i've spent on the bike...
Again BIG BIG thanks to Robert Taylor and the team for the setup and for encouraging me to re-evaluate my riding... just need the time to setup properly and then put the km's on her re-learning how to ride her...
