Here's the text ...

Issued by MetService at 08:11pm 28-Jun-2008
WELLINGTON AND COASTAL WAIRARAPA
Southerly gales developing from just after midnight tonight, easing
late afternoon on Sunday. The winds are likely to reach severe gale
between 3am and about 5pm Sunday with gusts to 130 km/h especially
about exposed hill tops.

According to all the weather gurus, it's just getting started.

Here at Whitby we just had the strongest wind for the year with a gust of 79.8kmh. Met serrvice is predicting 100mm of rain today, we've already had 40.0mm (3.0mm in the last hour). Oh and did I mention the temp? It's 7.9deg and dropping 0.6km/h

We're bailing, but we're having a huge breakky-for-seven of pancakes first ... yummm

Well, despite my lack of clutch, lack of reverse-pattern shifting ability, and lack of sanity - what a blast!

Here are some of the photos I took with my pocket digi-cam, but the quality is really quite awful - the conditions didn't really help!

Definitely some of the most shocking, and most fun conditions I've ever ridden in.

My wife came up after I raved about the last meet and took it as evidence I am still crazy. I ended up spending the next day cuddling a heater.

"I'm not going I don't want to get a frozen wet arse!"

Go on tell the truth AJ - That's what you said to me!! (The thought of his arse made me feel quite ill and that's why I didn't go....)

Hmmm judging by the look of the weather I was much better off at home by the fire packing our bags.

Looking forward to the next round though :headbang:
