Let us know how you like it!

Oh, when you see the pilot walking around the aeroplane prior to departure, he's not doing a pre-flight inspection... he's just looking for the door

Ya have more chance of crashing driving to the airport.

Dad's been in travel industry for nearly 40yrs,both as an owner of travel firm and employee. One time dad and his boss were on a flight to London direct from Auckland,a kid asked his mum if the captain would let him into the cockpit, his mum said she would ask the flight crew/stewardess.

Dad's boss had a suite exactly like the British Airways crew and said no worries,he then bold as walked from their seats in bussiness class goes to the front, asks a stewardess if this little boy can go into the cockpit.

They said yep in a couple of minutes, the door opened and the boy took a look around, went back to his seat happy as,the stewardess asked dad's boss where did he work etc,his reply no I'm not with BA,I own a travel shop in NZ,she liked his attitude and although many years ago,it wouldn't happen now.

Yup sadly you are right - wouldn't happen now. Closest I think you come generally is riding in those horrible little small planes when you can view the cockpit from the most rear seats.

The really good pilots allow you to take the controls. Especially on a long hot day and you supply them with an ice-cold drink...:shifty:

Would seem that actually my destination will be much more scarey than the mode of travel for the journey!!!

We are gonna be staying in Manurewa! Might need to pack my nun chuckas!

Sully one are you really flying to Auckland? When are you going as in which day?

As for the lollies I notice since they brought back "food" - yeah right!! - a pack of vege chips, or some Kapiti Cheeses - on Koru hour flights - they seem to forget the lollies at times - tsk, tsk.

Not like the old days - they could dish out full tray service and a drink and not forget the lollies all on a 30 minute flight to ChCh, let alone an Auckland flight.
