Never mind Rashika, maybe next time. It was last minute and i went out regardless. Gotta make most of the fine sunny days ya know. I went out for a couple of hours. Did a big loop from Hornby out to Rangiora, via the northern motorway, out to Oxford, through the Waimack gorge to Waddington, then the senic route to Horrorata (nice through there) and then down through Burnham and back home. It was a nice ride, but would have been nicer to have company and a beer stop along the way.
Maybe next time hun. better planned perhaps :niceone:

Looking forward to getting out some more, my baby is at the Triumph show this weekend (Woolston Club) so grounded today (ugh), but it seems like I already have a full calender of rallies coming up in the near future! Whoo hoo ~
Hope your trip North went well SS!

Lol - what more can one say?! A smile is always enough :)
I hope I get invited back next year, and the year after, and after that ... hard to imagine that in another 40 years my baby could be all grown up like some of the older bikes there. What about that amazing journey across the circumference of the earth eh! Great to talk to the wife of the rider of that bike, she had Little boy enthralled with her stories.

Welcome Retroqueen,
I'm keen to get out for a coffee sometime .. do you work during the week or are you free to ride?
I usually have Thursdays off - so how about next Thursday to Little River or Ashley Gorge? I'm sometimes free on Fridays (pref home by 3) ... or weekends, but generally I will have Little Boy with me then.
The two of us often go for a short blast out to Diamond Harbour for an Iced Chocolate in the beer garden on a Sunday afternoon, if anyone is interested in joining us. (But not this Sunday, sorry). Last Sunday there was music, and it was beautiful - hard to leave! :calm:
There are always lots of bikes at the Wheatsheaf on Sundays too, as D mentioned a few posts back. I'm usually a bit shy to go in by myself but would go and play up with group of Chch ladies for support.
Cheers ~

Hi Retroqueen
A few off us try to get out from time to time on a thurs or a day off work, often it's short notice but we are overdue for a get together for coffee. Eh girls another columbus meet up-those that have the day off can go for a blat afterwards:sunny:
If you have a idea for a ride & day post it in meetings.
Most off us just ride in mix groups in the weekends.
Are you going to the Magpie Rally you'll find a few off us there, just watch out for a meeting place for a ride there.
See you around

I like the sound of all of these things happening. I'm self employed which means if I know somethings on i can just get up and go and work around others. as well as that my kids are old enough that if I'm late home its no biggie.
Karla and Helen and Trumpess sounds like we should meet soon. I'm not keen on taking the 1300 over to Akaroa or the likes yet but as soon as I'm comfortable I'll let you know. Only been a few days and the bike and I just need to get a feel for each other. I'll head out later today and if the weather holds then again tomorrow.

Tiz a motor cycle rally, in this case bikers of all shapes and sizes, all breeds of bikes meet up at the Winchester show grounds, ya bang a tent up, chill out, talk shit, have a drink or two, wounder around checking the bike show etc out, join in on the lawn mower races... later on ya eat some shitty food listen to the bands, watch half wits do burn outs, tattoo comps etc, and more live music... then ya wake up 9 times out of 10 feeling like shit, have a free crap coffee pack the tent up and ride home at a slower pace that you went there at.
All up ya either into bike rallys or not... I love em the comradery is awesome and ya cant beat an excues for a ride.

I had a great weekend at this rally last year, it was my first and all since then have been good.
Are you free Thursday _days_ ? At the moment there isn't a Thur night ride, but the Wed night ride (http://http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showthread.php?t=81075)is good. There can be quite a good turnout which equals a wide mix of experience, so it often splits into two groups, one for learners and those happy to cruise, and one for those who want to go faster. Usually we all end up in the same place, although some of us (:Punk:) get lost along the way and end up all over the place!

Whoooo Hooooo
I like the sound of all of these things happening. I'm self employed which means if I know somethings on i can just get up and go and work around others. as well as that my kids are old enough that if I'm late home its no biggie.
Karla and Helen and Trumpess sounds like we should meet soon. I'm not keen on taking the 1300 over to Akaroa or the likes yet but as soon as I'm comfortable I'll let you know. Only been a few days and the bike and I just need to get a feel for each other. I'll head out later today and if the weather holds then again tomorrow.

I believe (from experience) that KB is the kind of website you can get lost for days in - lose sleep, forget to eat etc. There should be an "internet addiction" forum here. Luckily we all ride which means we usually manage to get some fresh air and sunshine between posts :)
Hope you got out in the weekend and the bike is tamed :scooter:

Its not the bike that slowing me up its the unfit body!!!!! Back to the gym with me :soon:

Sounds like there are a few of us gals going along tomorrow night so we'll organize something and post back here.
If it's a nice day Little River/Duvauchelles via Halswell doesn't have too many twists and turns, and we could come back via Wheatsheaf once warmed up. Any other suggestions? 9.30/10ish start ??

OR... a decent 3hr ride, great company, heaps a laughs good feed and a few drinkies in the sun with a wide range of decent people, live music "watching" the comps... well come on now.:niceone:

After discussion the ride tomorrow is on. We'll be meeting at the Burger King at 10 am, then we'll scoot out to Little River and then detour before going home to the Dux for a couple of cold ones (and coffee) after lunch once we're back in town.
So if anyone wants to join us see you there - don't be shy. :2thumbsup

There's a good number of female riders around chch it's just a matter of someone naming a time and place then everyone getting motivated enough to all meet up for a coffee and chat.
It doesn't matter about age, cc rating, style of bike, learner/restricted/full etc. Would be nice to get all the gals together for a slow and easy cruise.
Feel free to pm me with your cell ph numbers and as well as posting up here after the rally's over this weekend I can txt you all with any ride details :)

Just so you know, Festivial of cycling is on 2morrow so be careful round the bays. However I got told that it starts just after 8am and the slow riders should be finished by 1 so it shouldnt be too bad.

BTW, last week someone (whom we shall not name, eh Retro :devil2:) wanted to know more about my wee willy. I think that all girls should have one - it sure has made my life easier carrying my own around with me rather than having to ask to use the other girls ones. And of course, I can bring it out whenever I feel like it :wari:
I was given mine (by good friend) but I'm sure that if you go for a trip down Manchester Street and talk to any of the guys they will show your theirs and perhaps even let you take one home too!!!

Helen and Liv and I caught up tonight after the Nana ride and thought it was a shame we hadn't managed to tea something up before Christmas. We figured we could still squeeze some girlie time in by having a short ride and a meet for coffee close by........
So here's the deal...... meet at the Speight's Ale House Ferry road car park (Waterman place off ferry rd) at 2.00 on Sunday for a ride to Sumner over Evans pass and around to Lyttleton and then a stop for coffee there. Not a big one but possibly more do able than anything else now that kids are home from school and work do's are in full swing etc.

Was a fun little tootle over to Lyttleton (Huge Cruize liner in dock) Had a bite and a late coffee then went our separate ways (nearly droped it getting out of the car park though.... car wouldnt let me out!) Retro took tunnel and I headed round the bays and back over Dyers (Still not keen on Dyers)
Had a chat about the idea of doing some "girly" (minds out of gutter men) things next year so hopefully some of Retro's ideas could get of the ground!

Just Retro and I made it out.
Was a fun little tootle over to Lyttleton (Huge Cruize liner in dock) Had a bit and a late coffee then went our separate ways (nearly droped it getting out of the car park though.... car wouldnt let me out!) Retro took tunnel and I headed round the bays and back over Dyers (Still not keen on Dyers)
Had a chat about the idea of doing some "girly" (minds out of gutter men) things next year so hopefully some of Retro's ideas could get of the ground!
I woke up to rain this morning and resigned myself to dissapointment of not getting out for a ride today. And as it has turned out the sun was shining as I was visiting a mate, so sorry girls, I totally misjudged that one.
Retro, hunny ..... what ideas have you got coming into play babe??
Are you going to give us a sneak peak? Are ya, are ya, are ya?

Liv and I had a lovely little poodle yesterday, just enough to let the christmas rush bugs take a wee rest for a while :woohoo: dang things!!!
I just have a couple of ideas for girlie runs that include things I like to do and figured if anyone wanted to join me for those then all good.
Sort of includes riding and shopping!! Or laxing out.
I'm a real gallery fan and love taking the bike out to where ever there is good art and good coffee. Figured it might be a cool thing to stop in at some galleries for a change.
The other idea I had was to go to Hamner for a massage and a dip in the pools. Mentioned this before and the point was made that we may be too tired and laxed out after a dip on the pools to actually make a concentrated drive home so that might need to be an over night thing.
anyway those are some of my thoughts I'm happy to put something together if anyone is interested............
thoughts anyone!!
Trumpess there are plenty of other ideas.... :innocent::innocent: not so sure this is the right place to mention them ;););)

OOoo that sounds awesome too Karla!
Retro and I talked about other people (with male parts) joining in if they really wanted... we didnt have a prob with it (Phoenix is a bit of a blouse) but what do u guys think? Maybe we could have guys to some and girls only to others....

I think it's really important to have guys as well - we don't live in isolation, and we all gotta get along together :) I'm really anti-separatism, and there is no doubt about it, I love men.
But there is something kind of neat about just having girls now and then. In the same way that men need to get to know each other without the presence of girls (male bonding), I think so do we women need to get to know each other without men.
I would never want to go along on a guys weekend. And ... Phoenix is NOT a blouse!
I wonder if we girls could suss some things out first ... alone, with the view of seeing if it was worthy of the company of our esteemed brothers?

and my whip!!! :whistle::whistle:
This is all good.....signed up over there at the Christchurch gals:2thumbsup:2thumbsup
Would be great to have the "boys" along sometimes...... the other thing I had in mind was some sort of family thing. Karla and I both have young fellas that ride on the back with their Mum's and I'm sure there must be BBQ spots around where we could actually ride to, then BBQ and kick ball or something , swim in a river , that sort of stuff........
Just had a wee pootle over the Evans and into Lyttleton with my 16 year old.....
had Japanese for dinner and then coffee over the hill.....First time for me with a pillion on the Beastie Babe over hills!!! We done good and it was great Mother daughter time....
