Hi All, been looking at the new KLX250s which looks ok, but when I did a google search it said it was under powered and quite restricted in the carb and exhaust areas?:argh:
Can I have some feed back, has anyone bought or done a good long test ride on one?

Don't know how they compare to the new WR250R for price but the WR-R is getting a lot of good write ups. Huge service interval!
Cheers R

I'd say the price differnce between Yammy & Kwaka would be about extra 30%

They look pretty good but seem like an old style engine in a modern frame/suspension. If you want the power of the modern high and free revving 4 strokes then you have to spend the extra $'s - if the power, and type of power delivery, is adequate for what you want it for then it should be an enjoyable ride.
Carb and exhaust restrictions can be improved - at a cost - need to work that out compared to buying the Yammie

the are much more modern than the KLR250
the engine is basically teh KLX300 engine, it is quite restricted in the carb and exhaust, however since the KLX300 exhaust system and carb bolt straight on they are easy to get more hp out of them
the engine itself is very reliable, they will be a good bike, and the price is very good as well

That's what the bro is looking at doing for cross country racing.
KDX200 engine in a modern 4st 250 frame.
