Went for a run this morning from Waikanae bridge down to Otaihanga domain. The river was in flood and at some points up to my chest. Otaihanga is a lake. I have not seen anything quite like it. Paekakariki rd, Haywards, Greys rd are closed. Takas has had a big slip too. This BS weather is really starting to piss me off. I reckon Microsoft are controlling the weather so more people will buy Xboxes.

people will buy Xboxes.Probably presages (is that the right word? Is it in fact a word? What is the meaning of life? Are all teabags round? Do the railways still sell pies? Do steamrollers roll steam? Do.. ah....What?!? where was I?!?)
Probably presages the release of that new MicroSlob game - "Global Warming".

Having a day of it are you.... what you need is to get out on the bike and get away from it.... Never mind - if I get the new job I'm looking at I'll see if I can't get you hired too....

Saw the Otaihanga domain this morning... um... what domain... Never seen it that bad before... Yup... couldn't get to work either, gave up at Mackays, 'luckily' I have cable (the boss knows about it ) so I can work from home :( Sigh.

It's frecking raining again and I hear Paekak has crapped itself, the Rimutakas have a big slip and most of the roads I went on towards Woodville the other day have gone...

What is going on ? Global warming ? Predictions for our part of the globe are mostly about wetter conditions year round... so break out the scuba gear and be prepared to swim home.

Lucky I don't live a a flood prone area, oh wait, I do :(... Hope it stops raining soon coz I don't want to get my feet wet

Sedge.

At this rate a set of tyres will last me all year. This is the reason the holiday road toll is so low, nobody went away for hols due to the crap weather and if they did it was overseas.

Having a day of it are you.... Yeah. It's all good though.
When I get to the "manic" part of losing my marbles, I start to get creative and write better.

what you need is to get out on the bike and get away from it.... Well, I was thinking about riding with Matthew, Mike and Steve for a bit this morning (assuming they'd give me a bit), but it was drizzly, dribbly, and uninviting.
So here I am at 'work' again.:sly:

Never mind - if I get the new job I'm looking at I'll see if I can't get you hired too....I have to leave this one soon, before it leaves me bereft of what little commonsense and spelling I have left. Or right.

Or a new Film based on the game "Global Warming - this time its Personal ...... deodorant"

Whinge, whinge, whinge.

At this rate Transpower could stick a wind turbine outside your house and power the Kapiti coast.

Could you organise a flood to wash our house away down the hill, so's I don't have to continue to maintain it?

Yeah I do, it's in my genes. But you think I whinge, in UK there's a whinging club and all they do is meet up in a pub and complain about the beer, the prices, the fact that their evening has been interrupted.

Just been down to fishermans table and back.....
all traffic diverted thru Pie-Cock township (where people live and wont move their cars off the side of the road so traffic could move in 2 directions. so peeps have to wait so trucks will fit past it. one gold car in particular.... arseholes), and everyone still stops at stop signs that are on intersections with closed roads.... fuckwits!!!!! there's not even coppers there, just fulton hogan!
one piece of fucked road in one lane at McKays Crossing.... but even tho the speed limit is 30, people are going at walking pace to see the train track being fixed.... cause of tailbacks for 4-5ks
took me 30 mins from raumati to the killer highway on the bike..... fuck even trying in a cage.
Pie-Cock hill closed....

Oooh. Sounds like a good challenge... ;)Except to Hitcher - a very simple matter indeed to push the buttons that operate the traction control and 2-wheel drive.

Made it home safe and sound.
ALL roads open. They were pretty much a river bed.
The Hill was COVERED in stones and mud, and on the way down there was a pretty large amount of water still flowing down the road.
But its ok...
I borrowed a Fireblade to ride home on, so my bike is not too dirty. :killingme :niceone:

Just come back from a ride to the top of the Takas. Didn't go down to Featherston (careful, I'll have to grow a beard and sit on the fence at this rate). The road is clean all the way from Upper Hutt. A little bit of water running across the road above the lakes lookout but that was that!

Some interesting wind gusts on the way back down. I think that the ST will benefit greatly from a set of Metzeler Roadtec Z6s. I'm also getting used to the world of toe-scuffing corners again -- haven't done much of that since the Zeal.

Are the Takas open? I REALLY want to go for a ride after work...

I spotted Hitcher serenely wafting Southbound by the Ngaraunga interchange, I was heading North and suffering from the crosswind coming down the gorge.

I noted Mr H had "Wind Effect" switched off on the STX climate control.

I went over the 'takas to the twin bridges and back to Kaitoke gardens and back to the bridges and back home.

Yay, no slips but a couple of patches of diesel on the Featherston side.

That's right it was the walking track. River wasn't too bad at Waikanae end just a bit fast flowing, but down Otaihanga end it was in full flood. The walking track was up to my chest and that's after it had receded. Earlier in the night it would have been up over my head.

NO NO NO my friend.
This track day is just for bikes.
The car/bike ones start during winter.
Hurry up wit the TL, and you can come to!!
You dont need mirrors or indicators for the track!!
