Monday the 30th life begins again for me.
I am going back to work for a engineering company as a mechanical fitter, my buisness has been dead for to long now, and I now want a different direction for my life, than running my own buisness.
I have been doing a very intense training programe for the last month, involves the GYM and lots of swimming, and by the end of August, I WILL be fitter than before I went to the TT last year, and fitter than I have ever been in NZ, I have never trained at all for racing in NZ over the years.
As some of you will know, I HAVE BEEN A BIT DIFFERENT over the last few months, why- HEAD INJURY! Badly damaged the right hand side of my brain, which effects, Maturity, decision making, memory etc etc etc etc, just looking at the head scans from the Isle of Man hospital last night, and the brain was very beaten up when I stopped!
I NOW HAVE OFFICUAL MEDICAL CLEARANCE TO RACE AGAIN!!!!!!!!! YEE HA:sweatdrop
So YES, I am going to be racing bikes again, I will start testing again at the end of August (( Thankyou MOTO TT Crew)) I am going to race my Old K6 GSXR 600 UNLESS SOME ONE GIVES ME A 675 TRIUMPH???? ( Would love to race one here in NZ)
My Goal is, to get back to the Isle of Man TT races next year, and I WILL BE TRYING TO WIN races there again, I can and will try, simple!
Now where is my new BMW SBK?
I know what went wrong last year, and it WAS NOT my fauly, so I trust myself, and my loving wife FIONA, is behind me as she always has been ( Thankyou babe)
And thankyou again, to all that helped us, and hung in there with me through this shite period of life, BUT it has made me a better man than I was before, I am very proud of what I have done in the last few months with a lot of hard work and support from my wife, and I really believe in myself now BIG TIME:hug:

Nice work Shaun. Especially with the motivation following a blow to the head.
Hope you dont mind me asking - has the intense exercise helped with the head injury symptoms?
i look forward to more spectatoring :wari:

Re Head injury, I cannot say for sure about the training and the injury, but I do believe it has helped, as it gave me a Goal, and we all need goals to move forward, so PROBALL YES-
The head injury has had a bigger effect than expected really, and due to the fact that I could still use a key board and cell phone, I made a lot of Very BIG mistakes, some people dealt with them, some people spat the dummy and ran away and slagged me, well at least now I know who I can trust and know who the users and tossers are these days:gob:

Those are all sources of respect for me - head injury or no.

can sympathize with you there mate, have to watch the fatigue and headaches (for me) as well.
Most people have no fuckin clue what the signs are for this thing. They just assume you're a grumpy cunt, having an off day or a typical Ginga, etc etc
Glad to read you're coming through it, it takes time, lots of time.

Almost 20 months and I still have at least one (headache) a day for few a hours if not most of the day, and still have a nap for a couple hours in the afternoon.
I won't ever drive a big rig on a commercial basis again.
Doctor seems to think it may take a few more years if there will be any further healing, but they don't really know.
Life has certainly changed - albeit for the best.

What strikes me reading these thoughts about surviving life threatening injuries is you do get a really different perspective on life, almost like who cares I'm alive probably shouldn't be,so maybe life is too short(and it is)lets enjoy it.Makes me pissed when I here people moaning about small things annoying them,i.e weather, colds. And I for one look on at other people who were in hospital,or undergoing chemo and radiation with me,as some were worse off but their attitude was great, some were down and despondant and having minor treatment(compared to a woman with both breasts removed,or brain and bald etc)of say malinoma on arm.
