The starter rope on baby bikies quad broke. Whilst I was replacing it the whole spring assembily went sproing -anybody got an exploded view of what it should look like?
The quad is one of those qt50 suzukis

I expect you've got an exploded view of it right now, that'll teach you to use your cyborg powers.
Sorry Frosty, I just can't help myself... I have this mental picture of you commuting to work down the motorway on the quad coz your bike is in the shop being fixed.
Heh heh...
Maybe WT could snag you a workshop manual photocopy...

After being a lawnmower and chainsaw mech and working in a couple of hire centers I'd rather exploding recoil springs be just a distant memory.I have no idea what it's really like, but I'd say not far removed from a chainsaw - although there were some nasty ones that you couldn't remove the cover without losing control of the spring. You just gotta sit down and wind it back up,smaller than the housing size, sometimes I tape or otherwise hold them together - this is how you get new springs, rewind the rope on the pulley and somehow get the correct tension. It takes a bit of practise,be you'll get to a highly skilled point where you can do it in only 3 or 4 tries...
