How to aim headlight

Can someone tell me an easy way to aim my headlight please I have read several was to do this and each one says something different with conflicting information.

easy....sit on the bike and turn handlebars. If you want to aim high then pop a wheelie!

Different bikes you aim 'em different ways. My Ducati has an adjuster bolt that raises or lowers it with a simple twist however.....I see you have fitted aftermarket headlights to your bike so all the standard methods are out of the window.

Line up your bike in the garage with the door closed and switch the light on so you can see the pattern of the light on the door.

then loosen the bolts holding the lights in place and move them up and down as appropriate. There is no left-right adjustment so you had better hope they are the correct cinfiguration for a "drive on the left" country. Diped beam should be pointing slightly down and high beam should be pointing slightly up. when you get your WOF take an apprpriate spanner in case the pattern is at the wrong height.

set the dipped beam so they are level or just below the rear window of a car parked 50 metres away from you. If you can adjust the high beam seperately, I like to set fullbeam so that it is only just touching the road - that way it illuminates things without making a glary pool of light close to you.

Find a DESERTED FLAT ROAD. Park it on the centre line...(at night) set on HIGH beam... Adjust to suit... see the most road...done !!!

Nivram, if you think your headlight is in need of adjustment, call in to a testing station when they aren't too busy - they will usually do it for you for free.

Roll your bike up to a wall and mark the height of the center of the beam on the wall. Back up about 10m and switch on high beam. While sitting on the bike adjust the center of the beam to point at the mark you made on the wall.

Works for cages so I can't imagine why it wouldn't work for a bike.
