Forks could be slightly twisted in the clamps.
One or both forks could be bent slightly.
Maybe one bar is not adjusted correctly or bent.
Front fairing support may be askew.

Might just be bent bars. I reckon the best test for a straight front end has to be taking your hands off the bars (keep them close though, just in case!) at 50kph or so. Does it track dead straight? If so, everything's probably in line and you just have crooked bars.

What's been confusing the hell out of me on GiJoe1313's RZ is that the clocks are crooked; part of the bracket is bent. You'd swear the bars are out of line, but it's just the clocks causing an illusion.

I bought a crash damaged VFR750FL jap import back in the day and could never quite get the front fairing support exactly straight. It seemed to me that the bars were out too. Drove me crazy. Then I just ignored it. :)

Put the bike on a centre stand with front wheel dead straight. Measure end of bar to ground, end of bar to a reference point on the tank (filler cap?). Then you will see if it is 'out'.

If it seems straight (and is tracking ok as per xersesdaphat) then ignore it as it may just be your eyes playing tricks.

If your steering really seemed funny it would tell you something like this.....

Two boys go out on a walk. One looks down and said, "look at those, those are deer tracks my dad told me about them." The second boy says no those are elk tracks, my dad told me about them. Then the first boy says, "No those are deer tracks." The second boy says, "NO those are elk tracks." One hour later they were run over by a train.

I thought the same thing was up with the front end of my Ducati...or maybe the fairing subframe ws twisted....then I remembered my eyesight problem (I can only really see out of one eye) and I was looking at the handlebar and screen from a perspective that was left of centre. Moved my head to the right and all was straight!

If the bars are bent you can check by removing them and laying them on a flat surface.

Or ride faster so you are concentrating only on the road.:wari:
