Speedo cable broken?

is my cable broken? my speedo stopped working and i took the cable off at the wheel, cant seem to muster up the finger strength to take it off at the other end. anyway there was this little bit at the end of the cable, it looked like it should be attached but could be wrong... help?

Yup! That little forked thing is normally attached to the end of the cable. Time for a new cable! $40 or so.
