Just wanting some annonymous stats for interest's sake regarding our current licensing habits.
This is not public, so no names will be shown and even I won't know. So all you nawty people are safe. ;)
Just thought it might be interesting to know.
D. :Devil2:
NOTE: Just so there's no confusion..."250cc and more" means anything over 250cc, therefore not legal for learners/restricted. "250cc and less" includes 250cc and anything under that.
It seems I didn't quite word it clearly enough. ;)

On the last day of the March Hare, a friend and myself were having breakfast by the mess hall. There was 30 people there at a guess all quietly suffering over breakfast  when this guy came up and asked really loudly "who has their full bike license here"?
I was a little shocked to find that it was only myself and one other that put their hand up :gob:(and yes everyone had heard). One guy in the back said "whats a license?!?" and "Who needs them". Admittedly it was funny!
Probably only months before I was riding a 750 on a restricted license!

Yeah, just a Blazing Saddle will do!
Looking at the poll so far it looks as though we old farts with full licences are in the majority after all. Bikers aren't as rebellious as all that

I have had a full licence for sixty years. Back in the 50's we just had to ride up and down the road in frount of a traffic cop and he gave us a licence. Them were the days. Never had a helmet for many years. Army greatcoats and newspaper stuffed under the shirt, to keep out the cold, was our riding gear.
Only one bike available then would go over 100mph. (160KPH) a Vincent Rapide. I had the first model with rear springing a 1950 AJS. Learnt to ride on a 1937 Harley. If you could handle that everything else was easy.

I've been proven wrong. Just restored my faith in the yung 'uns!
Ok, question number two: who made a cameo appearance in the movie the quote came from and what was the importance of the said person to the movie?
Definite points for this one... (really pretty easy if you know much about the flick)

The director John Huston. Humphrey Bogart actually directed that scene where he's being harrassed for money by the main characters. ;)

Do you need the correct license to buy from a dealership??
Danboy

Do you need the correct license to buy from a dealership??
Nope. As long as you aren't trying to get finance or insurance(they require the correct license to be covered) or want a test ride(bike shop has insurance and you'd need a license to be covered), they're under no obligation to check your license. lol.
If you have cash up front however, the bike's yours. :) Who knows, you could be buying it as a present for a family member, or if it's a 250cc or lower you might just be getting it to learn on. *wink wink nudge nudge* ;)
P.S. And yes I had no license and rode a bike in the past. The above answer is from experience with buying from shops. :spanking::Oops:
