A KBer with a van should be able to help... A bit of gas money and maybe a doz. should do the trick...

What a shame you can't trust a helping hand when it's offered. Me and AJ would have had no problems bringing your bike over for you.

Personally I would trust 90% of KBers with my bike rather than a transport co!!

I had a mate that years ago that let a good mate of his take his bike to central otago when he moved (changed jobs) and apparently it was stolen on the way down but found out later it was sold on ebay and shipped to oz . :2guns:

Cynicism at it's best. Nice how your mate has affected your trust or lack of towards others

Good people treated with such suspicion will not likely make kind offers...I have a van but wouldn't offer given your comments as I would be concerned about you 'finding' something to complain about in my delivery. Good on you Bungbung you are a sweetie!

Having been through the importing thing myself I can understand some reluctance to trust others with the final leg of the journey, more from an avoiding 'murphy's law' angle re damage etc than outright theft/shady dealing scenarios.
The question I would ask is - is it insured? If so, then take a kindly proffered KB'ers offer if you want to save some money and probably time too. You only have to check their profile, talk to their friends and others and you'll quickly tell if you are dealing with an honest person. I can't see any honest person having an issue with you doing 'due dilligence' on them, after all you will be entrusting your baby to them.
If it's not insured, then simple - go with the professional movers, if anything goes wrong you are covered by the public liability insurance (though you should check the extent of the cover they will be able to provide you).
Other options would be talk nicely to your boss - he might give you the day off to collect it if he knows you are passionate about it, mine did! :)
Pay a mate/relation you trust to go down and collect it?

OOO definitely  hey I have a dog I need to get sold...think your neighbours would be interested?
Actually they are good cunts...col could probably just walk the bike over on his shoulders - saving OP gas money atleast...although Col might want some potatoes or something eh
