Thats where I get all my warrents. You need to book in, and they are always on time. Ask for Andrew, he is/was a biker.

Take a pleasant short ride to Whangaparaoa and go see Tim, (Classic_Z), at David Sidwell Place, Hibiscus Coast Service Centre, 09-424 0477.
He's a good bloke and rides a Z1300, but we don't hold that against him...

Sounds like an unlikely place to go for a bike WOF but they were recommended by Holeshot and I found them very good & helpful.
Personally I wouldn't go to a testing station. A friend's bike failed his warrant at the Kingsland testing station the other day because his indicators flashed too fast (more than 3 flashes per second).
Meanwhile the tester took this guy's SV1000S out for a road test without telling him he was taking it. Rode it around for about 10 mins before bringing it back. Didn't give the owner a chance to point out that the tyres were brand new - literally put on the bike an hour before. Just hopped on the bike and rode away. (My friend has laid a complaint with this guy's boss.)

yes , i must admit i am a bit weary of testing stations, they seem to get great pleasure in failing you on very minor things on a cage. i'm conserned they will fail me for only having two wheels and no doors...

i always get my bikes wofed by Rodger, he's a good bugger and doesn't go over the top on anything. I remember him saying to me the whole point of getting a WOF is to get you back on the road, not fail you.

Good stuff - I need a wof, now I know where to go. I think I'll try this Rodger fella first, then Takapuna Brake and Auto if no-one's home.

I was lying awake in bed last night, as you do (well... at least as I do), and I thought to meself (thought to meself), "Huh.... hmmmm.... it seems a while since my last Farrant of Wintess for the bike.... wunnerwhenitsdue....?"
Turns out, it was 17 days ago. :pinch:  :argh:
So, I thought I'd check on Good Ole KiwiBiker to see where's a good place to go. It's been a while (many, many moons) since I went to Action Bike Thingie for a WOF, so I hope he doesn't throw a spazz about my non-standard injimicators and zorst.
Is he likely to?
The injimicators are "E" marked, but iffen you read the regs, they don't meetem. The zorst should be OK, IF I put swap the non-stealth restrictor for the stealth one, and IF he doesn't pull me up on the fact it's removable.
What about that other place - Tackerpunga Break and Automofo: are they likely to be more or less bureaucratic?

I've dealt with him before. I'm just a worrier, and don't really want to have to reinstall my ugly "dumbo ear" indicators if I can help it.

Well... they work better. But they stick out too far, and they get severely muntered if the bike's dropped (and severely munter the inner and outer fairing panels).
Asides, the new ones MUST be good for an extra 10 horsies: they're more streamlined AND have carbon fibre goodness.

Whelp, I can confirm that not only is Roger a Good Bastard, but he's also a Pragmatic Person. :niceone:
He knew that the injimicaterz was not OEM, but didn't care. In fact, he was rather interested in them (after he'd affixed my new WOF, which was after he'd taken the holder off and gave it a really good clean).
We also talked about zorsts. He reckoned mine wouldn't pass the new regs, but I know for a fact it would. He passed it anyway, as in Stealth Mode, it's not loud at all (at all). Not like that cake mixer thing under the tank.
I reckon it needs a new mixing bowl, or paddles or summat.
I suspect he may have passed the zorst without the spud, but it's irreverent, as I'm like so over riding with it like that.
