View Full Version : ROAD RAGE, Black Jeep CBB114 vs R1?
madbikeboy
1st July 2008, 12:06
I witnessed a horrible bit of road rage this morning, a black Jeep Cherokee was following a sportsbike up the Tristram on ramp (heading towards town), with about 1 foot separation. The bike then tried to jump right (car in front preventing him from just gassing it, but the SUV jumped across too, and ended up outside the bike, then - get this bit - the SUV swerved into the bike. The bike had to change lanes to avoid getting squashed. Then the jeep jumped into the centre lane (lane 3), the bike came alongside, held his arms up to say "WTF???", and the arsehole in the SUV swerved at the bike again.
But kharma has a way of working things out.
I *555'd the SUV, and followed him to Northcote where he picked up a woman (who looked like a mistress, can I say that out loud?), and then followed him to HQ, a resturant on Beaumont Street. Plod turned up with a couple of cars, I gave a written statement, and Mr SUV was in the back of the second police car answering a whole pile of sticky questions (while mistress lady sat in the SUV pondering life and love).
If you were the biker who got pushed around, PM me, the police need your statement. Out of interest, the police comms person said without saying that there were other complaints against this fool.
For the record, the biker looked experienced (old leathers), and he was behaving perfectly from what I could see. The SUV guy was arrogant and rude (until the police turned up). The cop who took my statement was also a biker, so he got what was going on immediately.

It was kind of funny, SUV guy headed into the restuarant with Russian mistress, and when he went in he was flipping me the bird and screaming fuck you at me. But, when the first squad car turned up, he quickly went and paid up (too late, fuckhead), but the waitresses were chuckling at the guy getting put in the back of the second squad car, I reckon they didn't like him much either...

Where you on your bike or in a cage I imagine it was your car if you 555'd during the trip, just curious as to whether he thinks another biker potted him or one of his own cage drivers!!
The Black Jeep SUV wasn't sign written with a company on the side windows was it. As I had an occasion with one up Gt South road at Greenlane a year or so ago. He was being very aggressive but there was too much traffic and I just lost him and left him to his mental problems. Probably what the R1 rider did as well.

My agenda? Is that the one that asks for roads that are as safe as possible for motorcyclists (knowing that makes them even better for cars etc). The one that expects courteous behaviour to and from all road users. The one that gets pissy with cocks who fail to appreciate time and place (no matter what vehicle they are operating)?
The one that's quite similar to yours, but goes about achieving it in a different way?
That one?

Have you ever thought about the overlapping effects of our actions. I'm bad to someone, that person takes it out on someone else, that next person snaps five minutes later and has a road rage incident... The law of unintended consequence and all that.
Hopefully there is enough good kharma floating around to offset this nastiness.
The SUV guy was a very high stress sort of guy, and he clearly has a need to get power back (using a SUV to bully people screams insecurity and impotence on so many levels). Wonder if his day is better or worse as a result of his recklessness...

In terms of 'outing' people, I've got no ethical problem at all with this SUV driver's information being made public. What I don't want to see is people getting burned because they broke rules in a traceable fashion while doing so.
Publicly posting registration details that one gets via an employer's Motochek account and/or bothering someone after retrieving their personal information from a utility company's customer database are both excellent ways to get one's arse in hot water.

I don't know if I would be up for giving them the bash, but I think six or eight bikers simultaneously "explaining the problem, "having a look at" his paint, "adjusting" his radio antenna, and "fixing" his mirrors on his BMW while he watched wouldn't go amiss. Gee what you got for a brain, popcorn? It's probably because he has to sit in the traffic day in and day out while bikes whizz in between lanes and disappear out of sight.
Or maybe its because he's had a fight with his boss, or his wife's cheating on him, or he has to pay child support, or he has a small dick, or he thought he could out accelerate an R1 and got shown otherwise, or maybe it's because hes just a plain simple tosser?

Well blow me down with a feather!
I've called *555 a few times but got the feeling that it wasn't taken seriously. I'm pleased to find out they do actually respond to the information.
Bling sent.
I find if you squeeze in fuck, shit and wanker into the complaint they take you seriously, seriously.

He had just found out a KB member was shagging his wife - whilst he was popping out for lunch with his daughter..
Assumption is the mother of all f@#k ups......
Ya never know why people do what they do, I had a guy jump out of his car at a set of lights once, and run flat out towards me with a fire in his eyes and hatred burning in his belly, his fists clenched etc and I nailed it thru a red light to escape. All because I passed him in a queue of cars and slipped in front of him coz he was a bit slow taking off. He wanted blood! WHY???????????????
Because he was having a bad day and that was the straw that broke the camels back is the only reason I can come up with :calm:

As someone said, these people have access to top lawyers who know how to work the system, and he'll probably get off. I do hope he gets more than the slap on the hand with a wet bus ticket though. This kind of behaviour needs serious modification!
Good on ya, MBB... Bling sent!
Oh my, the linch mob are in full swing. Boy have we become a country full of tell tales reminiscent of Nazi Germany, quick to dob in anyone that doesn't conform.
Maybe his driving was a little aggressive and perhaps he is currently having a hard time on the little Island and is not his usual self. However, at least he was in control of his vehicle unlike most of the neanderthal inhabitants of Aotearoa.
I'm going to side with the SUV driver here.

I was going to say though that, while I don't condone in the slightest the SUV drivers actions and in fact condemn them as strongly as everyone else on here, you have to wonder what has lead him to having such an intense hatred of motorcyclists.
Who cares why? Maybe they had a bad childhood, their mummy didn't love them, their daddy is unknown... who cares?

I take it you condone murder then?
If the R1 rider had been killed after being hit by the SUV that's what it would've been (from MBB's description of events).

That'd be illegal, and morally wrong. I'd settle for a criminal charge, and as soon as someone provides me with address details, I'm going to call his house and see if wife knew about his little lunch date...

Finn, you're taking the piss or you're retarded.
The guy was using his vehicle to physically push around a person on a motorcycle. This was more than "a little aggressive". The police concurred as well, the cop doing the booking was shocked. He wasn't in control of his ego or his emotions, much less the 3 tonne SUV that he was using as a weapon.
I'll tell you what Finn, I'm the last fucking person to dob people in, unless they're drunk, or they're risking the lives of my fellow bikers. You need to get some perspective - this thread isn't anti-suv - it's anti-small dicked middle aged motherfuckers who drive like assholes and put my community in danger. Do you identify with the small dicked MF who did this? If you do, you need to find somewhere else to be, go to the US where violence and road rage are normalised.
Since written comprehension seems difficult for you, perhaps you could look up the correct spelling for "linch", and then go to Wiki and see the excellent success your Nazi friends had with genocide.

In early June a guy I work with was tailgated in busy traffic then deliberately rammed from behind. He managed to stay upright and followed the 'perp when he turned off the busy road.
The 'perp stopped so my mate pulled up behind him and before he could get his side-stand down he is taking punches to his helmet from the idiot. Finally he gets his stand down, gets off and gives him a couple to the head (kevlar gloves help) and follows up with the old "ground and pound".
The idiot gets to his feet then drives off in his van. The van has the company name all over it, and it had an unforgettable personalised plate.
I'll keep you posted once the court case is wrapped up.

What is it about peoples attitudes in larger vehicles? They act like they are invincible. The only problems I have with cage drivers are the ones who drive 4wds/suvs !!! go figure !!??
