So I've been allowed to upgrade my bike and damn I am stoked!

Couldn't have picked a better day to um, ride for about 8 hours in rain, hail, darkness, and gravel haha! As per usual with the Uni boys we managed to double the time it should have taken.

How the day panned out :

Plan to meet at Uni before midday on Saturday (the one just been), so I rock up on the CBR about 11:50 to find both Shingo's VTR and Motorbyclist's VFR in the carpark ready to go with neither of the guys in sight. So I text them both and bugger off to the bathroom and return to find Shaun all geared up, still no sign of Andrew.

We manage to leave Uni at about 12:20, only to stop at BP Silverdale on the motorway for Andrew to have some Burger King for breakie... Sweet and it's started pissing down. Oh and the air pump managed to reduce Shaun and Andrew's rears by like 10Psi, lucky I didn't need to pump mine up.

Finally, must've been about 1pm we leave Silverdale in need of the next air pump in Orewa, hmmm I'm thinking "shit I'm meant to be in Whangarei by 1:50!". YES we are out of Auckland now at least lol and start our long (should've been short) trip to Whangerei, filled with intense wind and rain, dumbass traffic for no reason, and assholes of road works like half of the time!

Arrive at Whangerei friggen cold and numb at like 3:30 thinking "shit I'm meant to be in Kawakawa at 3:30". Sell the CBR to a decent chap in Whangarei, fingers almost broke off trying to count the money due to coldness, chuck my spare warm gloves on and hop onto the back of Andrew's VFR. Sweet not even halfway done yet!

Doesn't take too long to get to Kawakawa although I got major cramp in my right leg and was shaking it like a dog on the back of the viffer, I was really just trying to kick the oncoming cars but my legs aint long enough. Oh and not to mention us missing the Kawakawa turn off cause it was very ambiguous! By this time I have a killer headache, as in like throwing up headache it was so bad but I managed to stay alive. Andrew tests out about everything you can on the viffer and is pretty happy with it although makes me test ride it to see if I'm happy with the front brakes doing something weird. I'm cold, sore, and hungry, so I test ride it then hand out the cash, was fucken brilliant but the state of my head kinda ruined it.

Sweet so it's like 5pm now and we have some tucka at Kawakawa, I buy some panadol rapid for like a million bucks from a dairy, and ring my gf to say I may not be back by 6pm as was originally thought.

Shaun lends me some ear plugs and we make our way back toward Auck, my headache leaves me between Kawakawa and Whangerei and I could finally enjoy my new baby! Almost died due to bladder explosion, the guys didn't see my signals so I had to pass them then pull over and whip it out.

I wont continue this novel much longer, nothing much exciting on the way back, it was cold, dark, with rain coming and going. APART FROM... riding along quite casually, knowing there are road works somewhere but thought they would be well sign posted... TUI! Cruising along this straight at 80kph behind the other two and FUCK now I'm riding on gravel, "OMG not my new bike"!!! Oh and by the way there is a corner coming up, oh shiver me timber! So I keep a steady throttle just easing off the slightest and keep the bike as straight as possible, losing a bit of speed and manage to steer the bike around the corner and get down to about 40kph but by then the gravel had finished, great!

AUCKLAND! Finally, it's 10:30pm on Saturday night and we are back in town, so what we would do other than head round to Squiggles' house to do a couple of things to the bike! Rear brake barely works so we try to bleed it, but the nipple is rounded off, ah well I don't use the rear anyway. Adjust the forks slightly. And give the chain a quick lube. Goodnight Stephen! Stephen says "Oh and Rob you can come pick me up from Hanne's at 6:45am tomo to head out west for the RRRS course" DAMMIT! And off I head to Soph's house to get 5 hours sleep as it's 1am already.

And that's how Rob got a new bike :Punk:

4 days and 800k's later I am lovin' it!!! It's gorgeous, and goes like stink! Didn't expect it to be able to do like 110kph in 1st gear! :woohoo: And so so smooth too, that V4 power! Was awesome to do the RRRS course (Cheers guys) on it the next day, gained so much confidence (have never had a bike that wasn't scrap metal before) and now I feel as one with the bike. :scooter:

Nuff said :done:

Pics + Vids!

Thanks to you guys who came with me, wouldn't have happened without ya! And cheers to everyone who's helped me out with it in some way since I've had it! Can't wait to see Toto's vid of me on SH16 as my first ride on it, will be able to see how much I've gotta learn!

Cheers guys, Glice it goes quite a bit harder than the cbr ay if ya want it to, 110kph or so in first gear so yeah haha! The thing I'm lovin' is how damn smooth it is to ride. Whether you're in 1st gear or 6th, it's just complete smoothness!
