Doesn't matter what you're on as long as you are there. The more the better. There will be all sorts of bikes probably, ranging from gixxers to custom bikes to strokers. It's all good. It's not a race either.

No mystery I was going to recce the route before posting it, but it looks like over the takas to the flying fish, then on past gladstone to Riverdale for lunch, then back via Masterton Takas end up for a pint at the Rimataka Tavern. My only concern is there might be a little bit of gravel on Te Wharau rd. I was going to check it in the week.

Can someome tell me where the Caltex Station (Rimatakas) is as I may go over there before the Wairapa Airshow. I was over Masterton today and really enjoyed the ride. Saddle road is a mess with patched areas and loose stone but you guys will go back some route down the east side I guess.

Caltex Rimataka is Nth of Upper Hutt on SH2.You can't miss it really. If you arrive at Rimataka hill you've passed it.

Which way are you coming from? If you're coming from:

Featherston: Head straight over the hill, keep going straight through Kaitoke, straight into Upper Hutt and it's on the right, you can't miss it.

WellyWood: Stay on SH2, through Lower Hutt, and into Upper Hutt. Again you can't miss it, on the LEFT this time.

Paramata RoundAbout (Over Haywards):
Stay on Haywards (SH58 I THINK), going straight all the way, straight through the roundabout, straight again until you reach the traffic lights on SH2. Turn left and go straight PAST Silverstream turnoff, into Upper Hutt, and again, on the left you can't miss it.

Does that help? Let me know where you're coming from if it doesn't.

See ya there?
Dave.

We'll be departing about 10:10 after a little briefing about the route etc so 10:00 is not too late. However as we are going through Featherston you might want to pick us up there instead.

Damn, would love to do this ride, my first ride with other bikers, but alas its not going to happen because I don't think the damn insulation tape will hold.

Well yesterday went reasonably well. Apologies if anyone got lost. We left Upper Hutt and went over the Takas which had heaps of traffic on account of Wings over Wairarapa going on. On to Martinborough for a brew. After that it was back roads to Masterton then out to Riversdale Beach. The lady at the golf club in Riversdale opened the bar just for us lot so if you're around there in the future pop in and give them your custom.

One poor chap fell off with his daughter on the back nothing too serious though. Weather was great. All in all a good old day. Nice to see all the usuals and nice to meet some new faces.
