Well i got my licnece back just over a week ago and had been riding a fair bit to catch up on lost time, so when the op came upto go for a bit of a blat with Death & co on Tuesday i was there, the ride was good as has been explained in another thread but a few have been guessing what happened to me, some already know but choose not to post which i appreciate, chhers guys.
Anyhow me n Death were cranking along the road to Kaiua (sp) at a fairly good rate of knots pulling some daft wheelies off crest's having a general good time when it all went pear shaped for me, following death we hit a crest it didn't even occur to me that he didnt hoist it over this one but i did, was somewhere high in the rev range on 4th gear (so reasonbly quick on a TL) and away i went, only the other side dropped a fair bit steeper than what i thought, meaning the rear dropped in faster basiclly flipping me as i didnt react quick enough, i managed to hold a 12 oclock for about 30metres (ala starboyz) before falling onto the rightside off the bike (ala not starboyz) and me bouncing my foolish arse down the road at high speed (ala COCK), took me a while to stop and a lot of earth, sky, earth, sky, earth, sky.
It all came to an end and i got up and walked around for abit while death who had looked in his mirror to see me and the TL chasing after him, only i wasnt on the TL, to arrive on the scene. Twosmoker and co werent too far behind either, mustve given them a shock to come round the corner and see a heap of TL everywhere, but mustve been alright to see me up n about instead tangled up with the bike, you know when you crash you do the whole self check thing on yourself and i was quietly pleased to be in the condition i was, i knew i had hurt my hands, worst i thought was i had disloctaed my thumb as it wasn't in its normal spot on my hand. The bike well, it's about 30kg lighter now, it didn't cartwheel so that was good, so at first it looks that the wheels, fork, frame, sub frame and swingarm are all good, so a rebuild into a streetfighter is on the cards for sure, i do need a new tank and raidiator though.
So after all this Gazza and Mid life crisis took off to get a car and trailer to take me and what was left of tlzeebub home (big UPS guys, you guys rock, and i'll ride with you anytime, coz i know when i bin it i'll be fine eh maybe) took myself to the med centre where they informed me that i had broken both my hands (aw crap) and that was about it really a few bruises here n there but all good.
I love my gear (or whats left of it) my full leathers (spool 1 peice) saved me bacon thats for sure, if you wana ride hard, go for it just get the gear, my boots (sidi verts) saved my feet from any damage, my helemt dosent look like it got touched (strange but good), gloves (astars gp plus) i dont hink there would be many gloves hat could've prevented the injurys i reicevd the only rant being a seam on the plam burst, but i cant complain to much. Nex time i will look at teknic's speedstar 2 glove as then plam protection looks real good.
If i had to spend more money on gear than the bike i feel it would be worth it, no comprimise's should be made.
In no way has this off put me off riding or riding hard, just shit happens, i know full well i might of not been so lucky but no way am i giving up riding, although i maybe inclined to start racing more instead.
The TL is prob going to be getting motoX riser bars, projecter lights up front, geared down and maybe look at a custom underseat pipe, wihout a muffler ah hahahahaha, okay with a muffler :weep: and a supercool paint job of uh id ont know yet. No hurry for me thou.
Got 2 months to sort parts anyhow and a whole lotta time to kill, as me hands are out of action for that period of time.
Fuck typing is slow going, i know a few of you guys prob think i'm an idiot etc etc, and yes i am really, it was a foolish thing to do, but i did it and i'm living with it, but i ride coz i enjoy it, the track isn't always there for our use all the time, i keep my eh fast stuff away from towns and always think of who am i gonna hurt, i'm not a nutter by anymeans and i can ride like any normal person and do quite regulary, those that know me already know this and will back me up, those that dont well judge me as you well and it's a free world so your opinion is welcome.
Cheers guys, ride to your limits and make sure yourbgear is upto the job coz i'd be a shitload worse off or dead really without it.

To ansewer a few Q's:
Norm i do wear a back protecter but wasn't for this one, don't ask me why coz i don't know why i wasn't  just as well i didn't need it.
Yeah Sensei normally i do have the brake covered and know how imoprtanat it is in a wheelie, (years of pushbike wheelies) but shit it all happened so dam quick, i didn't have a chance and whacking the rear on just isn't second nature to me on a motorbike, maybe someone withe WT's, deaths experience they just do it instintivly, but yeah not me this time.
Strom, if i manage 2000 posts i will have a massive blister on the one finger i use for typing thats for sure.

yeah atomic over on the shore have a fair few TL parts hanging around, can't for the life of me think why, it's not like TL's are dangerous or anything.
It's nothing to do with danger. Didn't one of you TLers on the TL thread say summat about them having somewhat of a penchant for shaking bits loose?
Maybe the Atomic man collects TL parts from the roadsweepers? :spudwhat:
Must be the Harley-wannabe in them; can't say I had any problems with the FahrtSturm shaking bits loose, and it was supposedly not as smooth as other litre v-twins.

Yeah am hoping that suzuki bits between gixxers an TL's can bolt together amkes life easier when trying to find parts.
More than a few times i've gone to take a fairing panel off or undo a bolt and its missing, and i know it was there last.
