HI!
i m from Italy and owner of an aprilia tuono factory R and ducati 916sp1.. i'm going to marry august 6th and then visit NZ (where my wife's sister lives since 2years ago) starting from Auckland!..their parents after 2 trips have finally decide to retire from work and move in NZ and live in auckland ..they fall in love for your counrty..
so.. i m only 35y but...you know..people changes..so maybe in few years i could sell my gym and move too !!!
so... some questions:
1) for my first trip, do you have a decal of your association , where could i
find it ?
2) i m a rider for trackdays (in italian amateur championship) and streets rider (i m from Florence,10min from mugello circuit and tuscany mountains have beautyful streets!)...do you have
tracks?..clearly yes..many? do
you have some web links?...and ... beautiful streets with saturnday and sunday riders near auckland?..some riders club links or meeting points?
THANX FOR ALL ANSWERS, I'LL HOPE TO MEET YOU SOON!

Hi there. I hope you enjoy New Zealand when you get here. I'm sure some Auckland folks will give you some info on rides etc soon. :sunny:

Welcome!

It's funny, my heritage is Italian and I'd much rather be riding over there than here :bleh:

In terms of ride meets in Auckland, just keep your eyes on the Meetings and Events thread on these boards. Once we get past the cold and weet season there should be more rides happening

hi there!
i'll be in auckland from 09aug to 30/08..
in italy is the hottest season...in NZ the end of winter?
how is to be a rider in NZ??..i mean:
are trackdays expensive?
if you have a bike you need insurance and some other taxes?
if you like mountain streets...are there police with radars or something else?
if you like tuning, such as little licence place holder , or little mirrors or indicators.. is it a problem for the laws?
..in italy you are not as free as you can belive:
IN TRACKS you have tu use a DB killer from 96db to 102db (only for twocyl)..
on streets...tuning is not so easy..it depeands by the officer that stops you..sometimes nothing sometime is a problem for mirrors and indicators or muffler.....
insurance...are not so expensive.. but taxes!!!...every year that passes you bike is much expensive!!!
....years ago having a bike mean freedom...now...i m not sure!...think that trackdays are considered for "rich people or a sport for richpeople"...in other EU countries or US trackdays are wellcome to avoid people in drive fast along the streets!!!!!!

Are you planning on buying a bike while you are here? Track Days usually range from $95 - $120.

Wellcome to the middle of winter !
But its not too bad where you will be landing ! Almost in the tropics lol
Not too much time to find a track day within that period !
http://www.motott.co.nz/bookings.html Have a track day on the 29th august, cutting it fine before you depart (booking is essential) !
Not sure what your plans are regarding a bike while in NZ, You may find it to be a slight problem hireing one for a track day lol
As for the police ? They are everywhere haha

nearly the middle of winter

insurance not compulsory, but recommended

if you like mountain streets...are there police with radars or something else?

oh you're gonna fit RIGHT in :)

if you like tuning, such as little licence place holder , or little mirrors or indicators.. is it a problem for the laws?

sometimes you can only find out by testing the law

..in italy you are not as free as you can belive:
IN TRACKS you have tu use a DB killer from 96db to 102db (only for twocyl)..

it's not that cheap here either

NZ's biggest track is about 45 mins ride from Auckland - about 100km of tarmac looping fun. Only costs are tyres, gas, pies and lattes! :)
