the rg.
that 50cc thing will blow its nuts if you tried to sit at its alleged 100kph for a decent amount of time.
yer was thinking that too
Dunno about the 50 but if the Rg costs more to run it will still be better value for $.
Going for a ride to taupo on the 50 would be shit!
The Rgs are cheap to run and can also be used as a streetstock bike when you want to go racing again.
And assuming on inspection all is good with that particular Rg it is a good deal.

Unless you're a midget the ysr is physically tiny, regardless of the engine size.

The YSR is too fast to be registered as a moped and would have been even without modification, any WOF agent with half a brain would pick you up on this first time.
So this with all the things mentioned above about size and longevity would mean RG150 all the way.

YSR is too small & slow to be safe.
Re the Moped thing, a funny thing happened on the way to the warranting station. My old RG50 when it was transferred over onto LTSA database or whatever ceased to be a motorcycle & became a moped as it was 50cc, even if it could do 105kph (118 on speedo). I was told that I could not get a warrant for it (anymore) as it was a moped. Dumb huh? Was big enough to ride about on the road & road to Cold Kiwi 6 times on it.
I suspect this mistake was universal. Sadly the chance of finding a good one still going is pretty small.

rg150 all the way! ive ridden an rgv150 a fair bit and it pulled an indicated
160km/h and rode a mates rg150 today to an indicated 170km/h .
even allowing for a 10% variation in acual speed thats still pretty
respectable, and both were fun fun fun! to ride:yes:
