No, I mean how hard would it be to start a single issue political party and get someone elected?

Is there enough motorcyclists?

It's not so much about getting elected, it's more about getting your deposit back!

Worse still: If you don't make a big enough impression you wont even get your message across and will lose your deposit too! :brick:

Good question though, are there enough motorcyclists to make a political impact? John.

Big Dave

Not just motorcyclists - motorcyclists families as well.

Be interesting to see, with the price of dinosaur juice going up, and the explosion of bike sales as a result if political parties start listening to motorcyclists a bit more carefully in the future.

Big Dave

Would you believe: Dams?

rogson
17th July 2008, 16:46
Yeah, it's possible.....

There were 2.3 million voters in the 05 election, which was 81% of the total electoral roll.

In 06 there were about 475,000 motorcycle licence holders (all types -18 and over).

If 81% of motorcycle licence holders vote and only motorcycle licence holders vote for the Motorcycle Party you need about 30% of their party votes to get into Parliament (unless you stand-in and win an electoral seat - impossible I would think).

So who's on the list and in what order?
Any policies?
