Harley Davidson FXSTC (Soft tail Custom)
Year of Manufacture & Registration: 1985
First registered in New Zealand: January 1993
Engine size: 1340cc Evolution/Shovel
Number of owners in NZ: Four, including dealer and myself
Although a 1985/86 model, this model could be classified as a collectors as the engine is the crossover from Shovel to Evolution.
Front wheel, 9 spoke alloy, with near new 100/90-19-57H tyre. Carries an Anihilator tripple piston disc brake set and braided front brake Line. Rear wheel is solid polished alloy with Anihilator tripple piston disc brake set, New 130/90-16-73H tyre
Carb is a 42mm Mikuni with screaming Eagle Chromed air intake cover
Exhaust system is Vance & Hines Long Shots running whole length of bike (not staggered)
Plenty of Chrome. Speedometer is a Police Special
Motor was fully rebuilt in 2004. Rebuilt crankshaft with new pinion shaft and Con Rod set. Lifters Main bearings, pistons, valves etc replaced. New Pistons, Con Rods, Rings, Bearings, lifters, S&S Cam Needle Bearing Assembly. New oil pump kit, basically a new engine.
Over the last 12 months I’ve replaced a new Stator and Rectifier, Battery, coil, Starter motor
Existing Gas tank needs replacing with the new 2 part Bob tank that is still in its packaging, the front fender has been replaced with a new one, the rear has some paint chips. Painting was going to be my next project, but job commitments means I need to sell.
Considering its age, I often get compliments on how nice this machine looks, even with a damaged tank and Im still riding. :ride:
