Shit. Heavier and slower than the first model and the suspension is worse, not better. The rear is the same (absolutely horrible) but the front is all over the place. It clatters and bangs off the ruts, bumps and potholes that are called suburban roads in Wellington and yet bottoms out at the first hint of aggressively applied brakes. Which is odd because the brakes appear to do very little at all.
Massively disappointing as I really liked the looks. Didn't bother with a review as I couldn't find anything nice to say.
As you can probably tell.

Okay, getting serious here. It looks like a very smart bike. It would be good for touring and crap, and with the inline four it would pack plenty of power.
Small tank though. And the exhaust looks quite nasty, like an old oversized shoe.

Sunshine, you've got no idea.
Have you heard the phrase, "It's better to keep your mouth shut and let everyone think you're an idiot than to open it and confirm it once and for all"?

A couple of English magazines (TWO, and Bike) had long termers on board and they panned it, especially in comparison to the previous Z750 and Z750S. It is the first bike I've ridden in a long time that was measurably worse than its predecessor (which I own and continue to enjoy - it's been "adjusted" a bit though), despite having "improved" suspension including non-adjustable USDs.
About the worst insult I could give it is that the old Bandit 600 is a better bike.

About the worst insult I could give it is that the old Bandit 600 is a better bike. Ive boxes of old mags with TL tests from new,the poms bagged it big time whilst most others loved it,interesting to see how many Brit mags have since to fill an issue gone out and had another go with headlines such as "TLS the most mis-understood blah blah)As much as i love bike mags i long ago learnt to take there findings for what they are.Fwiw theres nothing like putting your bum on seat for a day when considering what to buy.

The bum on seat thing is exactly my point. I own an 05 750S and I've ridden an 07 Z750 and the latter was just awful. The engine has lost its zing and it feels really awkward to pedal about town, let alone enjoy on the open road. Mrs Hitcher's Bandit 650 is a much better ride than an 07 Z750.

Sounds like a good excuse to do some test riding Carver... Strada over at the Mount have got a Shiver on the floor. Hamilton M/Cycles have got the Street and have Boyds got the KTM's? Hmm... What little I do know of you I wouldnt think you'd like the Bandit? The Street's have had awsome reviews from what Ive seen in the mags..
