Hey guys,
My exhaust became a bit rusty inside and it gets rattly. Problem with my bike that it has two cans atm so i would either have to get two small cans for replacement or get someone to connect those two into one so i could get one can. Does anyone know any good welders in auckland who dont charge hundreds? I can paint it etc myself, i just need someone with skill and tools.
Cheers!

Custom made single big exhaust. Or you could try buying a second hand CBR250, 400 muffler and chuck that on. 2 exhaust would mean 2 expensive.

I gotta find out prices, i can get original exhaust for my bike for $500 shipped from ausie, do u think it is going to be cheaper to get second hand exhaust off cbr250? Im sure it would sounds a lot better.
Yet another question is, if i get different diff exhaust would i need to get my bike on dyno etc. Since i guess can does make some difference on how the bike is running.

Hey Lemining, what did you end up doing about it? I've got the same problem as you, my exhaust baffles are falling apart inside I think, and it makes sick noises :( Almost failed my WOF cos it was too loud, haha.

Well my noise wasn't as bad as yours i dont think. It is just rattly at some rpms. At the moment it is not on my priority list :crybaby: (ie. no founds). But what i will be doing is get after market pipe and i have few friends that can weld it all and fit it all for me. What stops me from doing it apart from founds is the fact that (apparently) bike looses on value when you change its original bits and pieces, another reason is that apparently i would have to take my bike on dyno so they can adjust carbs (because of back pressure). :pinch: and that sounds like quite a bit of $$$.
At the moment i will have to put up with the noise, i will probably start working on it once uni is over.

Where are you getting the replacement full system from?
I got a full exhaust system for my Zeal back in the day (had the same issue as you're having with the one that was on it when I bought it) from Vic Wreckers (http://www.vicwreck.com.au/). I'm sure it cost less than $500.

I'm not getting full replacement. I'm getting it cut half way through and from then on i will get the rest including new muffler welded (or i will think about having it screwed together rather than welded, so in case of something i can quickly change muffler without going through all the problems again).
I spoke to those ppl from ausie about that muffler, price wise full set seems to be cheap, however the shipping is going to add up to the cost, also i dont think they sell brand new, it is second hand... how long will it take for that second hand to rust and rattle?... :dodge:
