next question.

ROAD HJVISVCL14M: Visor HJ07 Mirror
HJC visor HJ07 to fit helmet models CL14 and AC11. Available in blue, gold and silver mirror.

these mirrored visors. Are they like tinted ones re: night riding?

Apart from looking cool do they have any benefit to the rider?

they also have a tinting effect.

Comes down to personal perfence, if you perfer a mirror or just a smoke/tint visor, they are not as dark as dark smoke visor, so can be used a a bit easier if caught out in night with it on

I can't tell yer 'bout the HJC ones, but I had a gold-mirrored (and neutral tinted too) AGV visor, and it was Da Bomb! Kept out all the glare (including that from irate motorists) and almost made me look kewl.
Bought an iridium mirrored visor for the vifferbabe's Raid (coz she liked my visor so much) and it was crap: kept out hardly any glare, so she has to wear her tinted specs under it in the summer.

I've got one for my ac12 and don't think its got any real benifit other then looking cool. The tinting is reasonably light so its good for bright days but still no good when your riding into the sun. A bit too dark for at night but ok on cloudy days. I think I use my clear visor more

motomail have them for $100. I think they look cool but never had one before. Need a replacement visor but being on a budget means I would prefer not to have to buy a seperate clear visor for night riding.
I do hate riding at night so avoid it as much as I can but I do have early morning starts on the weekend which involve me riding at 5am in the dark one day a week. Mirrored visor no good for that or should I just go clear?

BTW, a clear one is $65 anyhow.

That's where the one on my AGV really worked well. The tinted one on the Shoei's OK, but not as good as either the tinted/mirrored AGV one, or wearing a clear one with sunglasses underneath.
Sometimes I wear my tinted visor AND sunglases - completely cuts the glare, but I get a wee bit of chromatic distortion.

As posted on your other visor thread, got a gold mirror on my CS-12 and it`s all good, `cept have not done any really "nighttime" riding with it though.

Look  IMO,as for night riding well my iridium mirrored is ,well to say the least, its bloody awkward/horrible.although it does help alot when riding at dawn and sunset compared to a clear visor:2thumbsup

Watch riding in them in the rain, on gravel roads, as the dirty water coupled with abrasive leather gloves quickly removes said mirroririing .

I did like my HJC one till that happened. Have a Dark one instead as it was 25 bucks instead of 100 odd, but still have a mirrored visor on the Shoei,

I got a silver mirrored visor. I don't even use it now as its dark when I want to use it. Considering I ride to work in the morning then back at 5pm its useless to me.

They are like sun glasses so useless unless its sunny. I must say it looks damn cool just wish I wouldn't have to baby it from scratches.

Go clear with a pro grip.

EDIT: I have the Helmet and Visor

Yeah the mirror tinting comes off very easy. Then you are left with a non tinted areas which sucks.

Stick with the smoke/dark.

I ran the silver ones on my HJC CL14 - they have a tint and are good in sunlight. However they scratch easily even when very careful and I found I was replacing the every 10-12 months (8-10,00kms of riding).

I am now using a smoked one and a clear one for night/cloudy days.

I got mine from the USA...as I'm a tight wad.

Can't tell you much about the HJCs but I go one from a mate after I bought him a beer, it looks cool but I still prefer the dark tints as opposed to the irridium ones.
