Not sure if the is the right foum but I guess Mods will move it if necessary...seeing as I don't want to pay anything don't think it is a Wanted to Buy:confused:

If anyone in the Auckland/North Shore area has any old broken sportbike fairings that are due for the bin then I'd like the chance to grab them.

I am trying to grasp plastic welding and need some old platsics to practise on. Tried Action & Atomic but they don't have any at the present.

You can send me a PM if you want to hide your shame from others on the list:bleh:

i've got two GSXR1000K3 side fairings that could do with repairing

BUT

either you pay for them and they are yours when you're done (ie you can sell them and get your money back + maybe some profit)

OR

Fix them and i'll take them back when your done - i might even pay you if they look good.

If your Akld based, feel free to call in one day for a chat. I have been supplying plastic welding equipment for a long time. I can give you some small plastic samples for welding practise, and I could also help you with some short sticks of various welding rod types. Im at the Auckland office (http://www.techspanonline.com/index.php?page=71&PHPSESSID=c92576c0cd5486835d7d542471b38948).

HI Tim,

We spoke on the phone a while back and you sent me some info onthe Leister welder and I also got your video. Raedy to take the next step but want some old fairings or bits of bike plastic for a start and then I'll probably get a good welder like the Triarc S. Just have to find the price out of the housekeeping money:eek:

Been trying to get over to New Lynn for a while during the week but been too busy. Things are quieter now so maybe I'll make it one day soon...I feel a sickness coming on:msn-wink:

Spoke to a vinyl layer the other day who had one of your units and reckons its the best he has had in all his years working

Lets see - option2 you give them to me, I fix them and you take them back afterwards. That sounds a good choice for me but you might want to think they will be the first ones I have done.

What-option 2 off the table:Oops:

If I get to a reasonable standard then maybe I'll try a few freebies for the practise

How many GSXR's do they sell every year?

You will know them all personally very soon. (lol) John.
