Silk Balaclava and Highest quality womens gear, What to get, Where to Buy..

I'd like to know who makes the best quality womens gear, by that I mean safest, warmest, but versatile, most waterproof and most flattering, ie don't look like the back end of a bus when the ass falls out of it when it gets wet. Also seen someone mention silk balaclavas on here?, that sounds like a bit of me. Any ideas? I'm a bit dubious about buying from overseas or the internet, bit risky if it doesn't fit well but decent Size 8-10 womens gear seems to be a bit hard to come by. Any ideas?

Dunno about the "flattering fit womens wear"" but you can get Oxford silk balaclavas from just about any bike shop.

Quasimoto can probably supply gear that meets your needs, or there is a place that advertises in kiwi Rider (MSW - Motorcycle Safety Wear - 09 3099 522) who 'specialise in womens wear"
But FFS don't compromise safety for looks

just got home from attending a ladies evening put on by Phil Turnbulls in Palmerston North .. Highly recommend that you go several bike shops & talk to the staff if they are worth their weight in gold they will give you excellent advice on wot to look for. Also again do not compromise look for safety ..

learned heaps tonite about clothing, helmets, boots, gloves, chillout gear along with some maintenance for the bike, Keep an eye in meetings & events as I hear a whisper that someone might be organizing such an evening in wellington soon .. :whistle:

Have a good look around, I've seen some pretty cool looking girls gear around (I don't think any armoured bike gear could be called flattering thou).

I saw the coolest looking pink and white Jacket at one of the shops in CHCH a while back, made me wish I currently had a girl to buy it for :)

SPIDI make top-end gear and even have a womens line! For Cordura, as good gear goes you can pick up a H2Out Grand Tourismo (or equiv) jacket for around $700-900 and the pants are not much different in price. They may be expensive but its a all-in-one package (protection, thermal and waterproof) the best $$$ can buy. The premiuim in touring gear!

If you are a leather fan, SPIDI make nice leathers for the ladies but only if your pocket can stretch into the $1000-1500 range. Quasi(moto) has some nice laides cut leathers. Ive still got my Mark 1 Quasi set which are a mens cut (before ladies was brought in) but they are still very comfortable and holding together after 3 years. Couldnt say they were flattering as my bum is too big anyway :lol:

I've been looking too :-) The staff at botany honda were awesome, really nice guy who didnt laugh at me when I came out in a pair of fully amoured spool pants that made me look like I was a size 22 instead of a 10... Actually I looked in the mirror and reminded myself of the Michelin tyre man, you know the one who has stacked tyres for legs... not attractive. But if it means I keep my legs if I come off because some jerk in a car thinks Ill be able to handle being cut in front of I can handle the embarassment...just... cycletreads in Takapuna was pretty cool too, lots of nice womens gear (personally really like Ixon stuff)

So if you find any good deals let me know, and Ill do the same :-)
